Root [WORKING]CWM Recovery v5.0.2.8

You may have already done this but just a shot. Make sure that you extract the zip file instead of trying to run it from winrar or whatever you use. If you try to run it without extracting it to a folder it will not work.
 
Ok, Im getting closer..
I put the build.prob back, and now it says Model LG-LG855

I re-downloaded the CWM recovery zip and extracted it to my desktop
Then ran the cwm-install-windows.bat

This is what I got.. then the phone re-booted on its own

I shut the phone down... pulled the battery.. re inserted the battery and held the vol. butt down while holding the power button.. but I cant get it to go into CWM recovery...

Any ideas? Tx, G8r

this one is not touched based. You need to use the volume rocker to navigate and the search button(magnifying glass) to select. Back button works to go back as well.

Confirmed to run on both boost, sprint, and virgin mobile versions.

Open zip and run the according file.

Make sure phone is on and debugging enabled. You must be rooted.

Notes:

1. Bionic chronic noticed that if you try running the batch file as admin you will get errors. Run it regular.
2. Backup and restore working 100% (dont be scared, i have done both)

A couple ways.. 1) As iNsTaGaToR said you can power off, then press and hold Vol. Down and Power button simultaneously until Recovery Screen loads. Or go to The Play Store and Download 'Quick Boot(Reboot)' Free:

On my phone it sometimes seems like it takes longer than 20 seconds, but not always. I prefer 'Quick Boot' anyway because it is done with one tap of a button and it reboots you into recovery. Either way will work though . ;)

Quick Boot is perfect for me and my Marquee with Boost. I got right in; backed up everything to my sd card that came with the phone; wiped cache partition; then restored; everything went wonderful

Now the question of the day is what is next.....should I of wiped the data as well then restored?....

Do I need to manage the sd card and delete that back-up to free up space?...or do I go and install Marky's Beat?

Any direction would be wonderful!!!

Can't wait to try this. Been working too much and have only barely had time to root my Marquee. ^_^

I'm so out of the loop I still had a Triumph running MIUI until I bought the Marquee. LOL
 
So i downloaded the update today from cwm and this is what i got:


Failed to verify whole file signature

signature verification failed - install aborted

anyone else get that and what does that mean?

Which update ZVC or ZV4? It could just be a bad download, you can try re-downloading it and copying the new download to the root of your sd.

I believe it was the zvc4 because it said it was a Sprint system update but when it rebooted automatically, it went into cwm5. etc so i assume it wasnt an LG update ya know?

Nothing has changed on my phone that I can tell; still have root, tether, etc

See those two downloads to this day confuse me.. I was told they are the same, yet if this is true why post them both? So yeah anyway, I used ZVC Link download. You can try that out see if it works..

Welcome to the Beta world of the Marquee! Haha. Though you came in towards the end of some beta testing, since now Bloodawn has the Marquee too.
 
I have been up and down forward and backwards with this thing. I have the Marquee on boost. I used the root and my phone had root access, tethering etc.... up until they sent an update and then I realized what happened... It wiped my root away... Now how can I root my phone again with the update... I have tried several things NOTHING is working !!! PLEASE HELP!! :( I got an ipad without service because I was able to connect through my phone.. Now I can't use it while I am not home !!! :( I'm sooooo sad! Anyone with answers please HELP !! I don't know how I will know if anyone leaves anything for me to read so... here is my email teaspoon30@hotmail.com (I hope this is okay to put this on here ????)

No working exploit for the OTA Update at the moment. Have to hang tight until a dev releases a newer root method. Sorry to say.

Well I for one cannot wait. I would like to try out Blood's Kernel .2. And have a fully functional ROM. I don't think it will be that long of a wait though, hopefully. :D

judging by blood having the basically having base rom for it done already (sprint) It will happen very soon

Exactly what I was thinking. I am just wondering how I will make the switch from flashing the zvc update w/ MBv1.2 (not MBv1.2zvc) to his new ROM with custom kernel. He was saying that we didn't really update using your links. So would flashing his ROM when it comes out be like automatically updating w/o having to update? And if so will it conflict w/ the prior flash of zvc link?

the kernel will be included in the rom. flash once and done.
