Root worth rooting?

Not a knock on the phone, but praise. I've always used prepaid phones and this is in a different category. I've always had apps I needed in the past, but everything works perfectly stock. I can't see me wanting a custom rom. I want to root so I can control the processor and try chainfire. I'm more so afraid of not getting ics. I almost feel the phone doesn't need rooting. Anybody agree?

It is always a matter of perspective. Ask 1000 people and they will give you a 1000 different reasons to root or not to root.

I have rooted EVERY Android phone I have ever had. Some sooner than later.

I have had the Note now for almost a month and I have not had any desire to root it at this time.

I'll keep to stock until ICS is released and see what's up then.

Unlesss of course you have TMobile and you only get Edge, then rooting makes alot of sense after the ICS update to be able to get 4G speeds.

I've rooted to have more control and security over the phone...
I also have my touch keys light up whenever I get a phone/message/email/gchat notification.

Rooting was a no-brainer for me because of the free tether. I have the unlimited data plan with AT&T and I can now tether to my iPad via wifi. I don't use it often as to not raise red flags with AT&T but it is good to know that my iPad can get online wherever I have my galaxy note.

I have owned the AT&T Tilt (running Android), Tilt2 (running android), the Backflip, the Captivate, the Atrix 4G, a Viewsonic GTablet, Galaxy Tab 10.1, Skyrocket and now my Note. So far I have rooted every device except the Skyrocket and Note; for now I just have not had a real reason to root.

Just my $0.02 but there is always the flash counter thing. I know how to reset it (flash back to stock if using a custom ROM, flash the reset with clockwork, then manually remove clockwork and flash the stock recover) and be back to stock, BUT if any step flashing forward or backward does not go 100% perfect, than the phone is bricked. There are ways to unbrick 99% of the time, but if you do not 100% need root, why risk it.
