Worth Upgrading From HTC Incredible?

Doing some research for a pal interested in the TB.

Does any of the power management apps like Greenpower alleviate he battery issues?

I know that my EVO lasts through the entire day with room to spare once I put Greenpower on to check the mail on a schedule vs. push.

My bigger fear is the 4G back to 3G handoff issue which is starting to come out in the media more & more. Any comments there?

with the MR2 OTA radio... the 4G/3G handoff is instantaneous, GPS lock & Nav turn by turn is instantaneous also.

I went from the Incredible to the Thunderbolt and the differences are minor IMO. Bigger screen, 2nd gen Snapdragon processor, FFC, and LTE. I do miss the optical trackpad on the Incredible. I used it very frequently.
If I were you, I'd definitely wait for the Vigor. Sounds like a beast of a phone.

I think it is going to make as much impact as the Incredible did when it was first introduced.

I would say wait. Chances that the vigor actually makes it out this year are slim. The only sightings of it have been the one photo of upcoming phones to verizon that states it is the bolts replacement. Some specs have been floating around for it that are outstanding but verizon would be out of their mind to release the bionic, then one month later release a phone with specs that dominate anything on the market, on any carrier. Just something to think about. I mean the bionic has been delayed how many times and we know how much verizon loves their DROID branded phones. If it does come this year, you can bet i will have my inc and bolt on ebay the second it is available so I can afford to buy it off contract. The bolt is a great phone, just not groundbreaking. The dev community is strong and will continue to grow so the life of the phone is not in question, but spec wise if something dual core, with an hd screen comes out this year it will blow anything else on the market out of the water.

I think the concensus of the thread is that if you MUST upgrade now, the Thunderbolt is a good alternative to the Incredible, but is still a 1st generation LTE phone, and with second generation coming out soon and looking so promising, if you can wait, the Vigor would be a good Sense replacement, with the SGS2 and Nexus Prime (maybe) being excellent options as well.

Given the issues with the TB, I am beginning to wonder.

Seems like the Vigor, due out later this year at Verizon in October, will definitely have the edge if the specs hold true.
