you have to train your battery to be better from day one. (1)That means out of the box dont charge it. (2)Let it run down and turn off. Do a full charge and let it run down and turn off again. Do the full charge and run down at least 5 times and you will get a healthy battery. Try not to charge your battery from halfway if possible. (3)Batteries have life memory and half charging can affect the performance/life. You can reset battery life in the recovery mode menu (hold down menu while turning on, i think you need to install a recovery program to do recovery mode) but make sure the battery is absolutely full before doing so.
1 - You are telling people to go directly against what the manufacture is saying to do in the manual. Why would the manufacture lie? You MUST fully charge the battery before first use.
2 - Li-Ion batteries can be ruined by letting them drain completely. You should start charging around 10% life left (at least).
3 - Only batteries prior to circa 2002 have memory. All modern batteries (Li-Ion, Li-Pol) do not. You can charge from 10% or 90%, and it makes no difference.
Where were you educated on batteries, and battery life? I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but your advise goes against all proper battery care.
EDIT - "I have advanced task manager on mine purely to kill the extra apps that i've installed at half hour intervals. It works fine and does not cause any problems."
Task managers, and Android do not mix well. The Android OS is much more capable of maintaining proper memory and power management. In fact using task managers makes the OS run even harder resulting in more battery use.

These are just my observations, but if what you say is working for you, by all means keep doing them.
