gaming computers are a lot trickier to build than a regular pc, thers just so many different things to consider. do you want to be somewhat future proof? if so youll want to grab a mobo with multiple sli slots, ddr3 ram, usb 3.0 etc...
yeah thats a nice one as well for single card
2 PCIe 2.0 x16 Slots (blue@ x16 mode, black@ x4 mode)
the x4 is too slow for higher end cards if you're thinking of running xfire you'll see a performance hit.
yeah if you're gonna do xfire or sli you need two pcie lanes that are x16 or 1 x16 and 1x 8 even works. the only two card solution i see even being worth it atm is 2x 1gb 460gtx(~$360 for both cards) past that it's all high end stuff imo.
but i mean when you get to the higher end stuff it's gotten to the point where its only worth investing for the crazy resolutions. i built my tower back in feb/mar and can play any game at a good resolution with high settings and it's a mid range budget tower...
yeah those would be a good choice. again i would pay the extra for the quad core. and i run a 5770 with no issues and the 460gtx is a superior card...so no you won't have any issues.
but if you're fine with the dual core that chip gives you the possibility*no guarantee* to unlock the 3rd or 4th core
Avoid tiger direct!!!! trust me, they take forever to ship have horrible support and RMA.
But those all would work correctly!
I have seen a lot of people suggest the 5770

was looking into this 5830, trying to figure how it compares an see which one would be better for my needs.
Would the quad core make a big difference while gaming i was reading that most games only make use for 2 cores, would a quad core still be worth it and more powerful?
I think your right about the cores maybe i should just go with the x4 3.5gh, also saw a x6 2.8gh
im just wondering about this now, like a x4 3.5gh would be better then a x6 28gh? or no?
Depends on what you're doing, if the program is only single threaded then most likely the quad core will get better performance. But if the program is multi threaded then you'll get better performance with the 6 cores. The thing though is you can also multi task better with the 6 cores.
I built a gaming rig like 5 years ago and got all my parts from newegg. Never had a problem with them. only part that failed was my WDS raptor HD. took a dump on my like so many other people.
sounds like you are in good hands. the one thing this guy that helped me in picking parts was make sure you dont buy an AMD based mother board and an intel processor. lol
when you start building make sure to dissipate the static electricity before touching the processor and so on.
dont think if it was touch on but use some artic silver when putting your heat sink on your processor. Newegg.com - Arctic Silver ASTA-7G (2-PC-SET) Premium Silver Thermal Adhesive - Thermal Compound / Grease
