Help Would this work

My phone has been acting up recently. I don't really have the money to go out and pay for a new one so I had an idea and put it into a boot loop and plan on taking it to Verizon. Would this land me a new phone?

Probably not. Best thing I can think of is(if you have insurance on it) rstore it to stock, break it, and get an insurance replacement.

I can't decide which is worse - the OP planning to deceive Verizon with a faked boot loop or the responders suggestion to break it on purpose to scam the insurance company.

Both are equally bad, and both go against the spirit (if not the wording) of the Site Rules.
