For all of you on Metro complaining about the phone.... Just think of all the crappy phones that Metro had before this one. Better yet go to any mobile company's website that shoves a contract down your throat and see what you will get with the price you paid for the Ascend. I was about to go to Boost and pay $400 for their android phone that is still running on 1.6. and it seems like nobody is working on a ROM for that phone. Good thing I did my research, and I knew it was a matter of time before the Ascend would be able to get upgraded. Just be patient, use WIFI and everything would be fast enough. Heck I can watch you tube and listen to pandora using 1X. However I would admit that patience is required

I looked long and hard before going with Metro and the Ascend, personally. Even with my sizable (22-23%) corporate discount on AT&T/Verizon plans, I still would be paying more for 2 phones and a family plan, with all the features I get now.

If you want top end performance, you are going to have to PAY for top end performance. If your goals are not so lofty, and you like to actually have a little extra cash in your pocket at the end of the month, and you don't care about having a "superphone", then you really can't beat Metro or Cricket in terms of overall value.

Basically I feel the same way, Blaster! I was with Verizon for years. When my contract was up...I had already decided to go with Cricket. I don't use my phone for business but after my experience with it to date i would feel very comfortable doing that.

Another attributing factor is that in the part of Arizona where I live the service is excellent. I live near Old Town Scottsdale (I love it here SOOO much) and the city has Wifi here in this area too.

The service is so cheap that if I'm going to be roaming I just buy $25 bucks of roaming service and I'm still ahead of the game.

I assume it's pretty much the same with MetroPCS. I'll be glad when Metro customers get 3G.

:)

Bottom line....it's just makes sense! LOL
