I have been a apple fanboy for a while now and i always wanted and iphone but did not wanna go to att.( no thank you ) so i went to the next best thing android. So ive had my androind phone for about a year now..and this is the frist time, with all the rumors about the iphone finally coming to verizon in early 2011.., that i can say that i would probally stick with android... they both have thier good and bad points.. but i am starting to feel like android is the superior os.. i love how customizable android OS is. So yeah i dont think i will switch... but we will see when i can get one on verizon.

The reason why the Razr fizzled is not because it became "too popular". Motorola relied on the Razr brand too much to sell and not focusing on improving the performance and features of the phone. Also, when the iPhone came into play... it killed off a lot of phones. If Motorola kept up with improving the performance of the Razr, making it a touchscreen, and so forth... we might see it today. It's kind of like if Apple's iPhone was still only a 3G today versus the latest phones.

The only thing I really feel iPhone has an any top tier Android phone is battery life... I envy iphone battery life. And that alone is not enough to make me switch.

I would never go to the iPhone because (and it surprises me no one's mentioned this) I would have to download itunes and do everything thru it.
I like being able to have direct access to my phones folders and even the filesystem if need be. It works like, well, an actual computer. With an Iphone you can't even do so much as delete a song, you can only hook it up to itunes and remove it in a sync-ish fashion. Horrible! Cheapens the meaning of "smartphone".

Simple answer: no.
I still have a couple of iPhones... yes I found that the grass is actually greener on the other side of that Steve Jobs reality distortion field.
To me an iPhone is sort of like your first girlfriend..... once you have had it, it's not that great anymore.

had an iphone before my x10 and i can't say its a bad phone... still running great (minus the scratches on the screen) lol... but once jailbroken, you don't need itune anymore lol but then again... i'm not an apple fanboy, but i know the iphone is a great phone/mp3 player and would buy another one anytime (keep in mind that android is now my new love, but having an iphone is like a winter car) you take it only when it's needed (when you don't want to get dirt/snow/salt on your sexy brand new summer car

I totally agree with this.. like i said i have oved apple and stil love apple... but as far as day to day use... i really love my droid and the android OS.. but yeah i really love i phone.. the cool factor of it.. and the sure fact that it just looks sexy.. haha i can defieatly see how the iphone is like the car you keep in the garage to protect it and keep it clean but everyonce and a while you can take it out to have fun on a nice day ( like there not doubt that the iphone has some great games..., but as far as apps the iphone and android have most of the same key apps that you need to get by day to day.) How ever the iphone does not have the NFL app that comes with the verizon service which i absolutly love!

I've had problems with iphones in the past. A good example is the alarm clock bug recently... been happening with the first gen, but more than just DST, more like 1-2 times a week. I called their support about it, they recommended a full restore. Oh did that already. They then said that I could send it in to them (no apple stores locally), so they could look at it.
Not just iphone, but other apple products in the past. Way too much "flash" and not enough "stability".

In short, there are no longer apple products in my house. This is largely because of the alternatives that do everything better.

1) it is not "their new HDR photo technology", HDR has been around before the iPhone 4...
2) You can have HDR on android, download camera 360 or any other camera app that does it...

It's not HDR, it's simple "TONE MAPPING". Another negative towards apple for trying to rename something that it's not.

Ya. I like devices that are just mass storage and any computer OS or device (game console, NAS) that can use USB can be used to manage songs...
I'm eager for iPhone 5. I had to get rid of my iPhone 4 because of the dropped calls in Metro Minneapolis/St. Paul. I picked up a Captivate in October. Not too satisfied with it. I had it rooted. Since then it has been super slow, locks up frequently, usually have to re-start it 2 or 3 times a day. The one good thing it does is that it does not drop calls on the ATT network. So, while the iPhone 4 was great at everything except what it was supposed to do, the Captivate is only good at the phone piece and not much else for what I can tell.

I had an iPhone 3gs for 3 weeks. It was lacking in several areas so I got the iPhone 4. I kept it 2 days and traded it back in for the Captivate.
It was the best move I've made in a while.

You would do yourself favors reading the forums to see how simple it is to resolve the minor annoyances you're experiencing. Hacking your cell phone isn't always the best thing to do. Learning how to use your phone and how it works is.
It really seems like Apple is a religion. All the flaws and drawbacks of Apple products seems to be overlooked by the faithful. When you compare feature for feature with nearly any other product, Apple comes out lagging behind, but that never seems to matter to Apple zealots out there, who will gladly pay more for less any day, just to worship at the altar of Apple.

Really? Hmmm...then I guess my answer would be no.
The deal was I wanted the Sirius XM app which was not allowed in the "market." So, it was a choice to get that. If there are simple ways to increase the speed of this phone and eliminate the lock ups, I'd be interested in learning them. But, I'm not a techy--Talking about code or plugging my phone into my Mac and then typing some code on a directory is not something I am comfortable doing. But, I'm willing to learn the simple ways. Hopefully someone can share that. (And I'm not being sarcastic in this reply-I do want to learn.)
