I on the other hand go my Hero hoping I would root it and make it better then it was when I pulled it out of the box!

Now I am just searching for things I can do!

Nah, just having some fun. Its the internet man, lighten up! :) I just think its beyond silly for people who have to wait 2 seconds for their phone to do something to freak out, call the phone laggy and hate it. I am sure they are all under 21 and dont remember the good old days haha.

So u still using your Commodore 64?
 
I'm currently at 43% battery life using Fresh 1.1, gumbo kernal and overclock widget(not setcpu).
I charged my phone yesterday at 12noon.

Battery life now is great! Couldn't be happier with it. I truely think it's because of the down clock when the screen is off.

A+!!

Before all this I would have to charge the phone by mid day/night because I would get the 10% warning icon to CHARGE THE PHONE.

Damn it, I was hoping you had a brand and link to set me up with!!!. May sound stupid are you able to take a front and back picture of your case with or without phone is cool. I really want to find a case like that! I love how it looks!

For me, it's not about whether an application launches in 2 seconds versus 1. It's more about a general improved feel / sense / "usuability" of the phone, and the vast improvement rooting the phone (and the optimizations that go along with it) provides in this department.

The phone is just more responsive overall. For me, that's priceless, and what my expectations of the phone were going in. Everything else is just gravy.

YMMV.

I had it up for 4 days and the views had dropped to like 14 yesterday. Figured everyone had seen it already. I still have my other one up :)

You screwed up when you showed your phone not lagging and it showed a screen shot of the phone numbers.

Thanks for the laughs though.
 
OK.

Here is the "Heat Test". Again.. not scientific by any means.

I had the phone OFF and charging overnight.

Using Spare Parts, I check the battery temp after booting.

23.2 C

I then changed my SetCPU to PERFORMANCE: 528 Max/528 Min and brought up Pandora.

Played Paandora for about 3 hours straight.

Battery temp is now at 32.7 C


I have checked it with Ondemand and it ranged from 28 C to 33 C

Doesn't look like any major worries with my phone using the 3200mAh battery.
 
It all looks good, and I would like to root my phone, but I have some questions.

I looked at a list of custom ROMs, and some of them had version numbers of 2.x. I assume that is the version of that ROM, and not of Android. A lot of them still seemed to say cupcake. Should I assume that until 2.1 comes out, none of the more function ROMs are running 2.1?

Also, I notice a lot of people talking about the new UIs they have since rooting, but the impression I got was that there were some no-wipe ROMs out there that would preserve the Sense UI (Which I really like). Is that true, or am I getting something wrong again?

Really GLAD I saw this - Fresh and the Gumbo thing made me not want to throw this phone into a brick wall every day!

And once I discovered SetCPU by seeing this thread - and maxed the min to 528 or the 400 one - it was the ONLY WAY to play music that I found through a bluetooth stereo headset that didn't sound slow or warped!! Even after trying two headsets and Heros... I could move that min back down to 160 and I could hear the warping come back...

But thanks again!!!

EDITED PART: Placebo effect - Once I got to the gym to use my BT Headset the music was warped again, though much less than before with SetCPU - still enough to bug though...
