Root WTF? I must be losing my mind.

meaning just extract the firmware.zip

rename the firmware.zip to PL80IMG.zip

not having a zip within a zip.......

Great. Something else. Now it will update, but at the end it'll end with : set perm; some permission changes failed. Aborting installation...
 
take the firmware.zip out of it and verify it has the same android-info.txt as you ROM and then rename to PL80IMG.zip and flash through bootloader and then reboot into OS and accept update again

Guess something happened, I'm too lazy to do it, maybe tommorrow. Anyways no go. I can't edit androidinfo.txt and save because it will always say bad zip.

I will follow your suggestion. Oh, BTW. CWM Takes OTAs from Crick just fine. I just have to edit updater-script, and oh lord. HTC does a lot of things for one measly system patch.

I keep trying to apply the OTA but nope. No go. I can't change androidinfo.txt. WinRar will say archive is corrupted. Always. It won't say that if I extract it.

ok my friend, gives me all your phone info.

s-on? S-off? bootloader number?
romversion? Bootloader unlocked? Bootloader relocked?

and please flash a stock unmodified 4.1.2 ROM with stock boot.img and stock recovery.img.

root is ok to have in ROM, it won't get in the way of anything.

I just need this info from you so I can help.

Gonna have to wait -- I only have some info on hand.
All stock, root. S-off. Boot loader is unlocked, can be relocked. Romver is 2.1050.3, still lol. Ill report with hboot version in a few.

Sorry I fell asleep again. Success. No accept OTA yet, I just installed the status bar mods, so I have to replace systemui and settings.apk
