X number 3!

...I was actually gettin to the point i was going to root ths dx but the problems kept getting worse. I didn't want to take a chance on rooting it before i sent it back. I had been looking at the forums for roms that were blurless. Rooting looks pretty simple and reversable but i probably wouldn't go too far into changing things. Definitely get rid of the bloatwear!

Rooting is fairly simple, especially if you use the one-click root method.

I currently run DarkSlide's blur-less ROM on my DX and it has been fantastic! Not to mention the improved battery life, the no-throttle data pipe and the speed! I had it overclocked to 1.2 GHz but then took it off.

If you're interested in going the blur-less ROM route, here's the link:

I'm fonefreak over there as well.

They're not, people just are never satisfied. Seriously,a dead pixel is NOT a good reason to get it replaced. And my bet is the reboots are mostly from apps and the way people have then considered. Otherwise known as operator error. Out of four dx's I've yet to have a SINGLE issue.

actually, a dead pixel is quite annoying

do you live with dead pixels on your TV? I know I wouldn't.

Again, must of the dead pixels were dead on one color. That's why there are tester apps for it. If it takes twenty minutes and an app to find it, then no it isn't a good reason.

The X isn't really the problem, the problem is Assurian's repair techs suck. My wife went through this with her curve. We had to send back 4 replacements because they all had issues until they agreed to send her a new one. The new one wasn't really new but it worked fine for a few months until the speaker blew. Then I just gave her my bold and got the X.
