Charge when switched off, knowing the faults people reported last it wouldn't surprise me if it still rings and receives calls at the same time

Not tried yet, but I have got it Rooted with help from others on xda. So will be busy for a bit now.

No, it was menu back ect, but now it's the home button back.

One thing I have noticed is that when I am downloading something like an app from the market etc, the little 3G in the top notification bar changes to a 'H".

The H stands for HSDPA, which is alot faster than 3G when browsing and downloading

I thought it might of, but I haven't changed my carrier, just the Android version.

I didn't have that there before, it it new in 2.1 ?

Yes, it's new in 2.1

Right after updating and restarting the phone, halfway through start up a image popped up of a camera above the phone for a while. Does this mean anything?

Wow!!! That's brilliant! So that's why we've been waiting ages for this update. SE have managed to add the ability to display holographic images. I assume that's what you mean when you say the image popped up ABOVE the phone.

Sorry, just being silly. I'm guessing you meant at the top of the display.
