Hey, the problem I found on my side is that when playing music, the sound is "mono" so if a song has stereo tracks recorded, I am not hearing them! I tried two pairs of headphones so it is not the problem. Seems related with the 2.1 upgrade. Anyone had the same problem? Thanks!
Definitely
not a 'feature' of 2.1 - I've been listening to music through speakers in the last few days and the sound is certainly stereo.
Now that you scared me (got to doubt my ears or brain), I connected to a PC and checked with an audio editing program (SoundForge - by Sony, who else?

) with separate level meters for each channel. Ran the phone signal as audio input in 'Recording' mode: the signal moves
very differently left from right. Just in case, I recorded a few bars and looked at the waveforms:
stereo beyond any doubt!
So it must be something to do with your hardware, most probably the connectors: if it's mono with
diffeent headphones, then the audio socket on the phone may be shorted inside. Before opening or sending for repair, I suggest you test it like I did - to make sure your own ears and brain aren't misleading you
Best of luck!
those videos are done in a poorly lit environment to enhance the visibility of the screen
I stand by my remarks about the brightness it's no more than 60% of what 100% was on the 1.6 version and YES I can see a difference! and a lot of the time i like to use full brightness if i'm outside
What equipment did you use to measure the brightness, and under what test conditions? Are you saying we
have to trust your eyes and subjective perception?
Have you at least held 2 phones next to each other, one with 1.6 and one with 2.1, both set at max brighhtness? Why didn't you take a photo of such comparison and show us the difference?
Sorry but referring to your
memory of former brightness is insufficient eidence, not to mention that quoting specific %tages is outright misleading. (But with exact numbers in % you sound credible and gullible users jumped to attack SE for ruining their user experience).
Before anyone comes up with
objective comparisons, i.e. measured in lab conditions - I suggest that whiners keep their subjective perceptions to themselves and stop influencing others negatively.
