XM Sirius App released for Android OS

Have you tried logging in already? If not maybe try sending them an email.

QUOTE]

I tried logging in right away and then it said i needed the premium upgrade.

maybe i will call and see what they say. the program is worth $3 but it makes me mad that my lifetime subscription is already paid for and now they want more money for what i already paid for.

Really? I could have sworn it was working for me "last year", on my WinMo phone. They may be blocking now. I only stopped because I didn't like that my credentials can/may be cached on the Skyfire servers.

I can be a bit impatient so maybe I didn't give it enough time, but I couldn't get the music player to load up. I could log in and get to the "Listen Now" page but clicking the link did nothing for me.

Yeah, I'd suggest calling. It may just be something in your account that needs to be setup. Unless you're dead, your lifetime subscription should be good enough.

i am using a stock battery, check imap accounts every 15min, no facebook stuff running and using the xm app, it chewed through 10% of the battery in about an hour. of coarse like in the car i am constantly turning the screen on, flipping to another station then turning it back off.

the "media server" hasn't eaten up much battery so i can only assume the other 8% of the usage is coming from 3g. btw an hour and it has downloaded 70megs.

Wow! Wicked sound quality and very nice interface. After my free trial I'm probably going to spring for the 2.99 per month.

Gimp app...

It installed and doesn't show up in the Programs view. Doesn't show up in the market. Can't uninstall it.

Great job, Sirius.

I've been doing this for at least 4 years now. I refuse to pay the what- 14 bucks a month for subscription. I have been receiving promotional pricing for the entire time. What I do is when they give me the price and the amount of months I immediately go into my calendar and set an alarm to cancel my subscription on that particular. Call them up and tell them I refuse to pay that much, (sincerity in my voice, I tell them I love satellite radio, I can't afford it, whateva whateva bla bla bla) EVERY SINGLE TIME THEY OFFER ME ANOTHER PROMOTIONAL PERIOD! And if for some reason they don't, I wait for the email(which has always come) that says something like, "we want you back" and sign up again for another promotional period. The best promo period I've received was about 6 months for 25 bucks or around that. It's worth a shot to try this route. Just thought I'd throw this option out there. Simple business strategy for anything really. Some budge some don't. So far XM has been great and that's why I'm still with them.

haven't tried uninstalling it yet but i dont' see why you can't go to manage apps and uninstall it. it does show up in programs view, it is called "online". and it isn't in the market yet but you can get it strait from xm. so far i have been pretty impressed. on a stock battery though expect it to chew through 8-10% an hour though.

Same for me, friend.

I get my subscription for around $70/year. I just renewed in March. Far better than the $164/year they normally want.

I was pretty pissed when they removed three of my favorite stations after the merger with XM. More choice, indeed.

Yeah, I saw that now -- I normally uninstall in the market. That's what I was getting at. I forgot I could remove them elsewhere.

They need to change the shortcut name. "Online" doesn't tell me jack. I was looking for "Sirius", "Sirius XM", etc.

you are 100% right on the name being stupid. i was looking for the same thing and happened to see the icon is how i came across it. naming it "online" is just ass-nine. at worst they should name it "Sirius XM online" or something.

Ditto for me too. And now that my wife just got a new car, we did the same thing for her, but it was an even better deal, but only for 6 months. So I have the calendar reminder set to renew hers at a promo rate as well.

What I can't understand is why anyone would pay to get this on their phone when there are so many free alternatives. And if it is like the online service, there are quite a few missing channels.

Hey guys, is this missing the Stern 100/101 channels? I am so sick of Sirius but I can't go without my Howard. I actually hope he leaves at the end of the year so I can cancel 2 of my 3 subs.

Umm... why would I use this over pandora slacker etc?

Tapatalk. Samsung Moment. Yep.

Pandora doesn't have pre-programmed stations, at least not that I know of, so it's hard to hear stuff that has just come out or will be coming out. Slacker will get you new music but their playlist and rotations are so shrunken that you'll hear a lot of the same stuff in an 8 hour day.

The XM channels I listen to have a nice mix of new music and older stuff that I may have missed. I like the variety of multiple music apps so this is awesome for me. Plus, I already have a subscription since my XM radio and boombox goes with me to the beach every weekend.
