XO Skins Installed with fit pics, Perfection!

---LONG READ---

Using PayPal you have to enter the code in one of the later screens that pops up. If you don't see the code box before the next screen that says “complete order” (or something of the sort) then you missed it and you need to backtrack.

So what codes are you using currently? I used (sprintxo) and it gave me 30% off. Total was $12 and change.

OK, so I got my XO on yesterday and am very impressed. I am very meticulous, very detail oriented and don't except anything that will allow any type of separation between the screen and protector. I sprayed both sides as the directions stated but I ended up spraying the sticky side (the side that meets the screen) quite more then the directions say to. Because of this the protector did slide around but it allowed for squeegeeing and adjustment. Eventually while keeping my finger firmly in place on the screen and squeegeeing around my finger it eventually gained some resistance to the point where I didn't need to keep my finger pressed on the screen. This allowed me to get perfect placement of the screen. I then continued to spray the screen from a distance to mist the screen followed by squeegeeing. I repeated this several times until I got all the bubbles out. I let the phone sit for a few hours (battery out). I then took a look at the screen and noticed some bubbles appeared to show up. About six small bubbles in total. I then sprayed the screen and used the squeegee and concentrated on these areas, using the corner of the squeegee. Now keep in mind that by doing this I noticed that I put small indentions where I attempted the get these bubbles out. I was successful in getting these bubbles out but 12+ hours later I still see those indentions. They are by no means very noticeable at all but they are there and you can see them ever so slightly at the right angle. I’m hoping over time they will heal themselves.

Moving forward with this screen protector on, I do have a few concerns. How well can I expect XO to heal itself? I compare it to a Zagg that I had on my Incredible. It healed very well. A friend of mine has a Zagg on his Nexus and I have to say, it is not healing anywhere as close to my Incredible Zagg did. To the point where he is going to return it. This is the reason I stayed away from Zagg this time. Compared to the Zagg the XO has far less orange peel. With the XO the limited peel it has seems to be more linear were as the Zagg was blotchy. The stickiness doesn’t effect the functionality of the phone and isn’t very noticeable. No comparison to the Zagg as it was very sticky. My intent wasn’t to do a comparison but it seems that is the way it’s turning out. I thought this would give more insight for people that are familiar with both types of protectors. For those of you not familiar with Zagg just disregard where it comes up.

I hope this gives better insight for those who are still on the fence that are considering an XO screen protector. After my first 12 hours with it I’m impressed with the look, feel and functionality of it. I do recommend it. We will see further on how it holds up.

The next device you install a skin one, if bubbles appear after a bit, just let them dry. They work themselves out. It should heal up pretty well, you just may notice a tiny difference in that spot in just the right light, but from my experience it heals from everything.

Ok, here's my experience. I installed the xo skin (full screen size) Friday night around 11pm. The hardest part was keeping it aligned while trying to squeegee the excess water out. Everything was going good till right at the end, it bunched up at the top and I had to lay it back down and realign. Totally my fault. Once I got the skin realigned I stopped fooling with it. Needless to say it looked pretty bad at this point, bubbles and haze. I had read in another post to not try to get all the bubbles out and to let it just sit. I really thought I had messed up. Went to bed and when I got up yesterday morning, there were just a few tiny bubbles at the top and some bigger ones through out the rest of the screen. I put the battery back in and put my case back on.

During the day I was amazed at how the bubbles disappeared and the others kept getting smaller. This morning all bubbles are gone. It is very slick and smooth. I can't see any orange peel effect at all. I can not even tell there is a screen protector on.

As for the texture of the xo skin, I find it is pretty slick. There might be some very very small grippiness to it but I don't really notice it. The xo also seems to be helping with fingerprints. Very minimal. Also wiping the screen off is easy, I always use a microfiber cloth.

Sorry for the long post, just wanted to share my experience. I would definitely purchase again. Highly recommend!

I have yet to have an install where the imperfections didnt disappear. This matterial is very cool.

The long post is far more descriptive than mine. I am not a man of many words.

I used xoskin first when I got GNex, but i didnt like the feel (sticky and plastic) so i got rid of it and replaced with zagg... zagg... had orange peel all over it so i used verizon stock screenprotector.. and edges of screen torn out after using 1 week.
I guess taking in and out of pocket caused that.
so i re ordered xoskin again and used it for about a month now..
i feel less sticky (or my finger got used to it) so im keeping this one..

I got one for my Canon T2i, looks like the code is only good for once. I just created a new account and it worked again. ;)

I have noticed it goes away after a few days.

Just warm it up with a blow drier and rub them out. They heal like a gummy bear

I will have to try that tomorrow. I put an XO on my tablet today and when i gave it a wipe with a paper towel it left 2 huge scratch marks on it.

Went ahead and put my phone skin on and made sure i used a cloth this time.

Im not sure im happy with the feel.

As far as im concerned the main differences between an XO skin and a 50c ebay screen protector are
1. XO is easier to get on accurately. Yes its technically a longer process, but it allows fir some room for error.
2. Ebay protector feels better and still looks crystal clear if clean.
3. XO fits the gnex's curved glass better. Not a major concern, but a plastic protector will let in dust at the bottom edge where its curved cos it wont stick on properly.
4. Ebay protectors feel better imo. Once they get a slight layer of oil from your fingers theyre smooth as...

As far as my usage goes with how i treat my gear, i'll probably stick with a cheapo protector next time. But its definately a quality product. If i had a device that had a complte covering skin available, i would probably consider XO again.

Perhaps everyone's experience is different, but if these are all the same, I can't say the sticky feel "goes away" after any amount of time. It definitely does get better with time, though, and while it won't be as slick as the glass, the stickiness gets far less noticeable over time. I still believe the XO Skins is the best screen protector I've ever used, but I have not used a Steinhell, which I hear are excellent as well.

Agreed Way cheaper than replacing a $100+ screen

I thought it was over $200 from Samsung directly, especially for the vzw model.

XO is my new screen protector of choice. Mirror finish is amazing, unlike the orange peel ones! I have bad allergies, and I actually use my phone to help guide eye drops at work.... can't do that with the orange peel ones.

Better to spend a few bucks to protect the screen then to have scratches that you can't live with later!

I've had my XO on since Sunday afternoon and I like it so far. I had the screen protector that came with my Diztronic case on it before and actually really loved that one. It was crystal clear and felt like it was naked. It also went on really easy. It showed fingerprints fairly good but that didn't really bother me. However, I dropped my phone on the street and it got a couple dents/scratches in the Diztronic screen protector so I took it off and thought I would try out an XO.

The XO application was fairly easy. I've had ZAGG protectors on other phones/devices before so I was used to the wet application process. All my bubbles were gone in a few hours pretty much. I just put the screen on and set it on my window seal in the sun light. I know they say that its recommended to wait at least 12 hours or more to really let the bubbles out but I think turning the baby on and letting it heat up works the bubbles out quicker.

I am kind of disappointed with the feel of the screen but I think it will smooth out after time. It's definitely not a deal breaker for me. The screen, for me at least, isn't as crystal clear as everybody else is saying. I have a slight orange peel/hazy appearance to it, but its hardly noticeable under most conditions.

I really like the XO for the fact that I did have some minor scratches on my Nexus screen. I slapped the screen protector on and it instantly filled up the old scratches to where they aren't even noticeable anymore.

I would definitely recommend this screen protector to anyone. I will try it out for a month or so and see if the stickiness goes away. If it doesn't I might have to find one similar to the one I had on it before. That screen protector was awesome. The XO is pretty awesome as well though.

If I'm in a hurry, I'll use a blow drier. If not I just leave it on my dresser over night.

Also, if you get a little scratch on the protector, you can help it go away faster by warming it with a blow drier, spraying a little of the application spray on it and rubbing it out.

Installed my XO Skin last about 15 hours ago and most of the large bubbles have worked themselves out. TIP: Don't try to work them out after it has dried for a bit just leave it alone and they go away. I tried to fix a few and now it has some blemishes around where the bubbles were.

My biggest concern with this protector is the grainy look it is giving to the screen. Looks like crystalized brush strokes. It is on 60% of the screen.

I have attached a pic that will hopefully demostrate this. Will this go away after time or is this how it always looks? Installation error perhaps?

If this is how it is, it will be coming off.

EDIT: the strokes I'm talking about are on the left side of the screen. They are vertical from top to bottom covering 60-75% of the screen left to right. THe only "clear" area is on the right. The right isn't perfect, but it's almost tolerable.
