Xoom Essential Apps

Not sure if others have mentioned these...
Aldiko - great book app for those with personal book libraries
Astro - file management
Act 1 - great video player
Folder organizer - great app folder widget
Dropbox - for file sharing between computers
beautiful widget's live walpaper

Not a dumb question. I have found most will work. If they are in the market, DL and try it.

Yup - not a dumb question at all.

However - Steve Jobs saying there were only 100 apps that worked on honeycomb *was* dumb. From everything I hear, most apps will run on honeycomb - and Steve knew that. But chose to take a cheap shot (like he did against Samsung too) to gain fake points.

Apple makes some great products. And Steve Jobs is a genious. But he's such an @$$.

Lots of people and even. Certain posters here feel the need to distort things to make their point even remotely valid and they don't even have the benefit of being a genius (or thief) like Steve Jobs. Lol.

At least one of those "100 apps" is Documents to Go, then I have apps that I actually need like DC Metro Transit, OsmAnd, Point inside airports and malls, Skype, Talktimer, SmartDiagram, Unit Converter, Vespucci OSM Editor, TIFF to PDF.
Then there are the 74 apps that I want to have installed.

Just because there are a lot of apps, it doesn't mean that I want or need them. There were a lot of PSX games but 90% of them were crap.

ok i am thinking of picking up the wifi version.. will all the apps i bought for my nexus s sync up when i sign in on the zoom?

No your phone apps will NOT sync to your Xoom. Although you are using the same Google account, you will be using a completely different device. If you have purchased apps on your phone that you want on your Xoom you will be required to re-purchase them. Crappy situation but it's a money driven economy.

Are you F'N serious? wow that sucks and now the only reason I can think of to take my IPAD 2 back to best buy is its lack of flash

Wait wait. That doesn't sound right to me. For one, yes, the apps do sync- the apps that show up in your Google account will download to the Xoom. When I logged into my Xoom, all my apps from my Droid2 were there. I don't have a bunch of paid apps, but mostly those were there as well. There were a few apps that didn't show up at first (I think they were ones where you download the free ones then upgrade within the app) but if I went to the market on my Xoom they showed as "purchased" and let me install them to the Xoom without paying again.

On both my Android devices I have a few paid apps like Car Locator, Documents to Go, Pocket Cloud.

This info is completely false. You do NOT need to re-purchase apps on the XOOM. All of my paid apps work fine on the the XOOM. I didn't have to re-purchase.

Me neither. When I buy, I get them for both. This actually encourages me to buy more apps since I know I get twice the use out of them!

You will be able to reload all apps you have paid for on any account that is in your sync setting. If an app does not show up it means it is not yet certified for Honeycomb.

I haven't had to repurchase anything yet. I felt kind of guilty having things on 2 phones and one tablet.

I apologize for laying out some false info. The day I bought my xoom, apps like docs to go and a couple others were asking me to buy them again. Apparently this has been fixed, which I was unaware of. Again, I really am sorry for misleading anyone.
