Root Xposed module

I'd be skeptical to try it. I had issues on other phones with Xposed that I could only fix via restore with custom recovery.

Actually, I have this device hard rooted. I made a full backup with titanium backup. All we need now is the bootloader to be unlocked. I will try exposed tonight when I get home from work.

How'd you obtain hard root? Do you have custom recovery?

I don't think he actually has it hard rooted, just soft. Also, I don't believe we'll ever have an unlocked bootloader, I've been reading a lot and forgot why I came to that conclusion but what I found was that our phone might use something called QFuses and that we might have to use Loki. It is possible we can still flash a custom recovery and custom Roms, but I don't know about that yet as we've had nothing to try with.

I hard rooted it by using SuperSU. I ran it and it asked me to update the binary. Surprisingly it went through and I rebooted and no issues at all was pushed to the system folder. Don't know if that is counts as soft root or not IDK. I'm also using Andromizer for now, until we can get CM on the phone.

I got the prompt for the SU update today as well and my binary updated successfully as well. We have root privileges for the stock ROM but we don't custom recovery and can't flash a ROM without custom recovery not to mention bootloops because the bootloader is locked. I could DEFINITELY be wrong but I think we're all soft rooted

Well, like I said. Xposed works fine with no issues. Just have to wait for the bootloader to be unlocked.

You are right. We are soft rooted.

Soft root sucks, I want my freedom!...uh, danggit. ,....watch out with Xposed, its good, its awesome, but there's very few apks that are Zen with the Volt, be especially careful with all the tweeks in Gravity box app. WOW!!! js

using it and works fine I didn't even think about it just installed the apk and went to work. I have no problems with it at all. got GravityBox works fine XuiMod works fine and a couple other mods nothing it wrong.

Can someone please put in "easy to understand" terms why I'd wanna use Xposed Inst. & what I can do with it. I feel so stupid asking but I don't understand things stuff until I

Sorry got cut off!- I don't always understand thing's unless I do it myself but from what I read about Xposed it could mess up our Volts/F90's cuz we don't have unlocked bootloaders nor recovery. As always please & thank you!

We both have Volts so they're gonna react the same lol smh ,Go to gravity box, turn on master switch for nav ,play w/those tweeks n when ur get bootloop...or if you manage to get out of bootloop you'll understand. We think we know it all until we don't.

Xposed is the framework for Gravity box, you have to have Xposed installer to be able to have/use Gravity box(be sure tho to stay away from the Master switch for "navigation" in gravity box). Xposed has a ton of tweaks itself even without Gravity box,....but they're not device specific, lots and lots of tweaks made NOT for Kit Kat OS. There are a few that work well though. Anyway with Gravity box I have some cool tweaks=changed color and configuration of clock, date, battery, etc. Made brightness control by sliding left or right on status bar, turn on flashlight(torch) by longpressing home button, long press menu for screen shot, also screenshot delete enabled(delete option shows up in status drawer) long press back to open/dropdown status drawer, custom text in status drawer header, etc etc etc. If u have a factory default action and you choose a tweek that does the same or similar then you could have some issues so try to stay away from conflicting programs. Example= You wouldn't want to set the volume slides in gravity to control music, alarm, ringer, and notifications seperately because unlike the Moto g the Volt is already set that way by default...it'd be redundant and could cause problems, just like the nav settings(creating a second nav bar, not good lol). Warning, I will repeat, if u have a Volt do yourself a favor and do not turn on the navigation master switch in Gravity box. I'm sure they'll be those of you that are rebellious and want to challenge this, be my guest, but I warned you.

Thanx Bigmotoxer, I appreciate you getting back so quick! I get it now, sounds pretty cool. As long as you pay close attention to what your "tweaking!!!"

Personally I haven't used gravity box. I get all the tweaks I need using XBlast tools. . That's the only mod I've used and can confirm it won't brick your phone. However I don't mess with build.prop settings and stuff. I'm not exploring any others though as I won't have this phone much longer baring a setback

Xposed Framework is just the framework.

Think of it like building your house. U have to have the framework/walls put in/up b4 u can install/put in all the way cool stuff u want to put into your home

Xposed w/mods is just plain freaking awesome!!! :-)

U put Xposed in (then go into it and "Install/Activate" it, then reboot.

Once that's done, you can go in it (Download section) and get various mods (modifiers) that can do this or that way cool thing and d/l-install them.

Make sure for each mod u install, afterward, u go into the "Mods" section in Xposed (pull-down menu) and check the box for it (it wont by default) and then reboit.

Then you can go into said mod (an icon gets created in your App Drawer, which u can then drag onto your Home Screen, to access each mod from, as each mod creates its own icon/shortcut).

You make your tweaks, or settings changes for each mod (if any) and just reboot again.

These mods can do some completely awesome stuff! They can make your device so that it's almost like u installed a custome ROM! Especially with mods like "XBlast Tools", et al!

U can get right down into the Kernal type settings many times!

Try it and I promise you, you'll never go back again! Easily one of the 10 Best things (Xposed) ever created (apps) for Android, ever! :-)

Greatest thing since sliced bread!

Some devs say; "Buy me a beee by donating if you like it". This dude is owed an entire beer delivery truck!

Hope this helped you understand. I didn't list what can be done, because (with mods) there's just too many things it can do! Anything from your lock screen, to what color your clock is, to fonts, to ringer delay, to build.prop tweaks, etc., etc., etc.!

Amen to that, brother! Plus, I think GB requires a vanilla ROM (no Sense, nor TouchWiz, et al), whereas XBlast doesn't care about that. :-)

Can anybody tell me about the "Enable Screenshot Delete", in the "XBlast Tools" mod?

Like, what, exactly, will happen?

How, exactly, will it work?

Like, okay, because I have this feature enabled, I go to take a screenshot and then... ?????
