xScope, a multitouch pinch zoom browser

Have you tried 'Pin Zoom'?
I tuned it so that it won't mess up scrolling and found it is super smooth. Allow me but I can't contain myself to think that with 'pin zoom', who needs two fingers to zoom? It makes multitouch zooming kinda yesterday:cool:

All your guys feedbacks made this browser better and better. THANKS!

OMG the new updates are amazing as always. The pinch zoom is so much smoother now. The location awareness works perfect now even with sigalert.com (thank you so much). I am so excited for this browser like a fat kid at hostess packing facility LOL!

Crap sorry I meant pin zoom not pinch LOL. I was so excited I must have typed pinch on accident LOL.

I will edit the above post also to show this LOL!

I just downloaded the browser for my Hero, and quickly made it my default over Dolphin. One problem is that I can only view 5 favorites on the home page, am I missing something here?

My only suggestion so far would be to offer themes.

I need to figure out how to allow third party to install themes. Thanks.

excellent updates. Just two items:

1) The new editable bookmark titles are great, but I miss being able to rearrange my bookmarks as desired. Is there a way to do that now?
2) I still can't log onto xmarks.com. Is anyone else having that problem? It almost seems like the password field isn't accepting any inputs.

1) will be solved with next update.
2) I will take a look.

Thanks

I know others have mentioned it, but I too am getting a force close when the browser is opened through another program (when set as default browser). Just fyi I have a Hero with the 1.5 os. If you need any beta testers for that OS I'd be happy to help.

Thanks I will take a look and I think I can fix that.

Does pin-zoom work on Hero? Also I thought Hero and G1 are running 1.6, am I wrong?

Thanks

xScope is getting better and better--the new update, esp. the search suggestions+ voice search is great. A couple things I would love to see:
1. Smart text column resizing with double tap zoom that zooms to just the width of the text more like the default browser.
2. Search browser history in location bar.
Thanks, keep it up.

I have no problem logging into Xmarks. First time I had to do it with the physical keyboard - for some reason the virtual ones would not work - either portrait or landscape. Once I got it working, I told it to remember me and it has ever since.

I actually registered an account and used soft keyboard logged in.
Onething I did notice is that if I use soft keyboard and choose my username from suggestions, the keyboard automatically put a space. So I guess that makes username different. Thanks for letting us know.

This is related to mpapazog's website. I actually find that there is setting called 'UserWideViewPort' that will make xScope more like the default. I will explore more. Thanks.
The history search is related to content provider. I will add that later.

I really enjoy your browser. However, I have a few suggestions to make it even better.
1. Can you make it an option to hide the bottom right fold tab thing that opens the list menu? I find it makes it hard to click on items in that area, and it is more convenient for me to use "list" when I click menu.
2. I agree with the comment to have a pop-up window when you long-press something. For example, when I long press an image in the stock browser, I can either save it, or view it in a new window. Xscope lacks this.

I agree with the above about the folded up menu tab on the home page. It is a pain at times. But I like the long press to open in a new tab. Perhaps if that is added it could be a setting .

1. I will make it user customizable.
2. If you long press an image(not a linked image, you can actually try with Google's homepage logo), it does popup up 3 options. You can download it. Then open it with the Gallary app.

I think I will reorgnize the settings. Eventually I will make everything customizable. Thanks

Yes, but you cannot view the picture directly in the browser, unlike the stock browser where you can. Downloading the picture, then manually viewing in gallery is not only more work and longer, it requires you to have the picture on your phone.

Otherwise, your browser is very good and is my default browser.

WideViewPort......hard one.
Example, such as loading Wikipedia.com. Stock uses wideviewport, so to load the whole page, it has to scale it down. Then you will have to zoom in.
xScope on the other hand, fit screen. The problem is, as mpapazog's example shows, that some web might not be good to view like this.

I see. Let me fix this. Thank!

Updated a quick fix for jetflicks, and several search related problems. Some problems discussed here are not yet fixed. If you find any problematic website, please post here. Thanks

Today's update:

6. It is local aware now. (Websites such as google.com will try to get your location first in order to give you more localized results)

Hi XScope......
I'm still not getting any location aware results. The way I am testing this is by going to google homepage.

With the default browser, it looks for a gps signal and then gives me a 'near me now' option

I don't get that with X Scope. Am I doing something wrong?
