Xxkpa modem

Its running nicely for me. Full bars on the signal where I usually only have three and the internet flies.

Early days I know, but all seems tickedy boo for me so far.
Good signal on both 3G and wifi, and browsing seems slick

I see we're talking modem/basebands here, and not the most recent ICS firmware leak, so I've amended the thread title accordingly.

Best of 3 on KP8 and KPa

I get better ping but horrible download speeds (with KP8) in the city but at home I get around what ironass gets. It all depends on location!

After over 15h with this modem i can say it`s fast and im getting good dl/ul speeds :) will stick to it for a while.

Sorry, I didn't have a link so I actually downloaded the entire build and extracted the modem. I have since installed the full ICS KL1 build. It's pretty good guys!!

No need to apologise, I've had to do that a few times. I put a link to a modem collection in the all things root sticky a few days ago. The op doesn't get updated much but if there's a new modem out go to the last page. If they're talking about it someone's posted it so just make your way backwards and you'll find the link.

I installed LP1 last night after being on KPA.

When I got up this morning I noticed that my phone signal bar, (see screenshot), had changed from its normal solid yellow to a beige colour from the moment LP1 was installed. I re-flashed KPA and it has now gone back to solid yellow.

Any ideas why I've turned beige and green?

Have a slight headache, firing on only 2 cylinders and on 1st coffee... so speak slowly and softly.

Afaik the colour indicates signal strength i.e. green > yellow > beige > red. I've no idea why it did what it did, though.

I'm like you, and normally see a constant yellow bar. I may install this modem to see if my result echoes your own experience.

Thanks mate!

Take your time as I think I'm going back to bed for a senior moment. ;)

lads, i can confirm that with LP1 i too have mixed beige/yellow where on KPA it was all yellow...
but im getting same signal strength and similiar dl/ul speeds on both modems so dont know what to think...

Looks like my assumption was wrong, and beige > yellow. :o

I've put LP1 on my own handset and if figures don't lie then the above is true. My dbm has dropped significantly and the asu has risen, plus the signal display in the status bar indicates one more 'bar' than I saw previously.
