Root You Too Can Prevent Liberty Glitches! (ongoing list inside)

I was getting FC's in the app when backing up apps. I'm doing a fresh install now to try and remedy this. Also, each time I reboot some of my widgets are either gone or hidden under other widgets on different screens!! so annoying.

And my battery was at 40% the other night when I went to sleep when I woke up it was dead. . never happened before like that with GJ or any other rom.

edit: just did complete fresh install and tried to restore my apps with data from the liberty toolbox and I'm in FC hell. :( oh well. can't even open the app drawer or do anything.

Sorry for the delay in updating but I wasn't paying attention and after wiping data, cache, system, and Dalvik cache, I accidentally rebooted instead of reinstalling Liberty. Now Im freezing on the Moto logo. I can get into regular recovery, but I can't seem to get into Clockwork (even after a battery pull).

Looks like Im headed for SBF land.

I have a pattern lock screen. When turning the display on/off, it doesn't go to my rotary sliders... it goes straight to the lock screen.

Regardless of the time I set for the lock, I ALWAYS have to enter my pattern when turning off and off.

The only way to fix this is if I remove my password (which I don't want to do).

I'm sorry, but I'm still a bit unclear on the behavior that you're describing. Could you perhaps differentiate between what you're experiencing, and what the proper behavior should be?

My battery life is absolutely HORRIBLE on this rom. I love liberty, prob the best I've ever run, but I cant have battery life like this. 50 percent after 6 hours, and I have the extended battery! bummer...

I have also noticed random rapid battery draining at times, although this behavior is inconsistent. Sometimes, I'll get good battery life, with around 3-3.5 hrs of time with the Display on (which generally lasts me a day). Other times, I won't even touch the phone off the charger and it'll drop 20-30% in a few hours. On one occasion my phone simply went from 60% to dead in 2-3 hrs of sitting in my pocket.

This behavior is being experienced with a stock Liberty set-up, and no apps installed from the market except for Koush's Bootstrap, JRummy's Overclock App, and the major Google apps (Maps, Mail, Search, Voice Search, etc.). is anyone else experiencing occasional behavior like this?

Edit: I see that many others have indeed been experiencing battery life trouble.

Ive been getting random reboots lately, it wouldnt bug be so much if they just lasted a few seconds, but the last one lasted several mins with phone completely unresponsive, anyone else had this?

Ok, I just SBFed back to a clean .340 and then rerooted. Wiped Data, Cache, Dalvik cache and System. Reinstalled Liberty.

At this point, everything seems to be working just fine. Time to check on previous glitches. Settings --> Liberty Settings aaaaaand... Force Close. Try again... Force Close.

At this point I'm coming from a full SBF and I'm still geting this behavior. I know that its not my Liberty.zip because Liberty Settings worked when I used it to come from Gummy Jar 2.5. I'm a bit dumbfounded, to say the least.

I've noticed some, but not when i am using my phone.
this morning i awoken to find the phone's screen on and nothing in the "app history" showing that it must have rebooted and kept the screen on.

it seems liberty is becoming a pain for most users, i am included, i installed liberty again today and took a while for all my apps to come back, but i did nevertheless, and constant problems out of this one, widgets would be set at a particular size cannot change that, market force closed, i had to go to wifi zone to download apps...(strange) i bet once the dev of this rom tweaks the bugs it will be flawless, i will wait, i may try tranq tonight and see how that rom is but for now, it seems that apex is the ultimate most stable rom out there right now

Ok, big update on the Liberty settings Force Closes. It would seem that Liberty Toolbox is also necessary for the Liberty Settings (in the settings menu) to work. Uninstall the Toolbox, force closes come back. Reinstall the toolbox and they're fixed.

Glad to put at least one glitch off the list.

I backed up apps with mybackup pro, and then installed them using it. Some apps (engadet, NFL mobile, Rom Manager ... Angry Birds... Some others but I forgot but NOT ALL APPS) have issues. They won't open. I just deleted and reinstalled - this fixed it.

Behavior I have:

When opening the phone from sleep (screen off), it goes straight to the pattern unlock.

No sliders are shown.

If I turn the password off, sliders are shown.

Behavior I want:

Open the phone from sleep --> sliders --> pattern/pin unlock

i dont know if you would call this a glitch or not but trying to get a single contact onto a homescreen using lpp it lets me pick the shortcut, apply an image, but when i click ok it just sits there and stares at me not putting the shortcut to the contact on my screen.
i have also tried to install the blur camera and it will not show up.
and the last thing i would like to get figured out is that i use the keyboard "numberpad" because i really like texting with just one hand and i cant get that keyboard to work, or even the swype keyboard.

i have shortcutted contact on mine with lpp. you have to wait a long time for lpp to load all the apps.
blur camera installed fine for me. maybe it partially downloaded. look for the liberty folder in you sdcard and look under downloads. delete the blur camera file.
press and hold to activate those alternative symbols and numbers.
to change keyboards, long press on any text field and then select input method

i am having the market force close error as well. i will try reinstalling liberty to see if it fixes it. funny thing is everything was working perfect, then i decided to flash that new incredibly re-engineered rom but i didnt like it as much so when i reflashed my liberty backup that is when i started to get the force close errors..

**edit-tried reinstalling the rom without wiping data and it still force closes. then i tried updating the market to version 2.2.11 and still force closes. anybody got any ideas????

ok, well i managed to get the market to work again after 3 hours of wiping data, cahce restoring old backups and reinstalling the rom and every other combination you could think of. it finally works though so i am glad.

one thing i noticed though is that through my 5 or 6 times of reinstalling the rom, the rom actually installed itself differently a few times..a few times it would install with the toolbox and other times it would do it without the toolbox...i was installing it from the same .zip file as well......

oh and another glitch i am noticing are reboots when i plug my phone into my computer. but its a fast reboot so its not a huge issue to me and it doesnt happen all the time

I'm not sure if Swype is compatible with this ROM, but I can confirm that the installation of Blur Camera does work. If yours did not, try deleting the Blur Camera APK in the Liberty folder and attempt to install it again. Your dload may have been interrupted, which could have corrupted the APK.

Just plugged my USB cord in and it caused the phone to reboot, I tried it again and it was fine so it may have been a fluke.

That's a known issue, happened to me a few times too. Apparently it's from having apps on your sdcard - if you go into Applications and move the apps on your sdcard to your phone memory, it will stop.

2.) Sometimes when you download something from the market it will download and not install
/QUOTE]

this happens to me as well. Try downloading it multiple times it finally installed after several attempts.

I am wondering if this is a Market issue as well because in the past couple of days I have had this happen on my X as well as my Huawei S7 tablet. I did not have this issue under ApeX, but since there is a new market out there and this is happening on another device I wounder if it is really a Liberty issue or not.
