You won't hear me complain about the display

Before I bought, the main complaint I heard was about the display. Reports of a textured look and pink or yellow whites plus banding was a bit of a put off.

Well, maybe I got lucky but the display is near flawless on mine. No banding, certainly no texture or pixellation, and while whites could be brighter they're definitely white. And the gamut...!

I bought an iPod touch a couple of months ago with the much ballyhooed Retina display, and true it does pack the pixels in but the gamut is very narrow. I'll post some pics tomorrow if I can get good screen comparison shots that do them justice. Side by side the Gnex makes the Retina display look dull and washed out. They aren't even in the same league.

Now wifi on the other hand...

My Gnex hates my router and drops wifi within seconds of heavy load. No problem with my sister's, a Linksys E3200. Mine is some PoS SMC cable modem/router combo from Shaw. New router tomorrow should fix things up.

Yep, the screen on my most recent Nexus looks great, except for the splotchiness in videos. But I'm just planning to get a kindle fire for vido watching and have given up on the Nexus as a video player. Hopefully Samsung can figure out how to make this new SAMOLED technology look as great during videos as it does for everything else. :)

I too was perplex on this pentile display that wanted to buy one with non-pentail qHD. Thanks god i bought this.

For your router, well probably the GNex is too advanced for it.

pentile/RGB matrix mattered when it was below 300PPI, but GNex has over 300ppi so it doesnt matter. (some stupid ppl keep mentioning it on forum/youtube etc)

my bro has first version of SGS2 (Samoled Plus - RGB 217ppi) and i can read small letter better on GNex than his.

The screen on this thing is absolutely gorgeous. Only thing that "hurts" it is letting the auto-brightness control it, since it's way too aggressive and keeps the screen far too dim (and then you can see some texture and stuff).

I just leave mine set at like 4/5 and it looks beautiful all the time :D
