That's the error message that I get when I go to settings > about phone > software update. When trying to register it at the LG site, it says on their webpage to register with the carrier. Metro had no idea and both live support had no idea either. :confused:

Anyone have solution / suggestions?

Actually, I did. But there's nothing about registration.

I went to a corporate store, they didn't know anything about it, and all that had the phone came up with the same error. They are going to check with their LG rep and let me know.

So is anyone else having this problem? Some people I know that have this phone get the same message I do, others don't, they get the os is up to date message. LG's site clearly says to see your carrier for mobile phone registration. Metro PCS knows nothing about it.
Besides this error message, everything else works perfectly. My phone is rooted, but I was getting the error message before rooting too.
I have a service ticket opened with LG, and I guess I'll pursue it if I don't get a meaningful response from Metro.

yeah, this is my 2nd motion. the 1st didnt get that message. this one does.

weird.
 
you have to unroot your phone do the update and then root again.but itz been so many problems when people root there lg motion itz just not a good phone to do it.you have to go thru so much to move the apps to the sd anyway

I disagree.... its been better then just about anything I've come across, except my ASUS TF700t

Just could not tether with "E"

Some can tether with E... so there's something going on there - could be the DL and OTA upgrades are not quite the same (not uncommon). I dunno. But rooting has been just fine.
 
Yea i guess you rite when i rooted my lg motion it was alot faster for some reason.but it just brung alot of small problems this update thing being one of them.and you can not move apps to sd without directorybind.or changein the partition its just so much lol
 
I'm getting the same error message now but the funny thing after I upgraded the firmware to F it said that software up to date message. Then I woke up this morning and get the now you're not your device is not registered. Watch just my luck now that my device is not register let's watch the next upgrade be jelly bean or something significant that I really need on my phone that's just my luck
 
I mean I'm willing to downgrade my software version back to D or E on my phone even if that means sacrificing root because if jelly bean comes on this phone I won't be able to do a ota update
 
had same message last nite and today i checked for update and message was gone and correct message states you have latest software. obviously it was a problem on lg's/metropcs side that they seem to have corrected this am.
