Youtube app wont work!

[sparkerzzzz]

Hi all. I had the DHD for xmas and I can't get the youtube app to work. Originally, it just timed out on loading, but since I've updated it from the marketplace, it loads the thumbnails but still wont play the videos. Anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

Well first off, have you updated the firmware on the phone and then updated the application via market place?

Kind of thread hijacking there

But if you are running the latest app version

Go to the video, scroll to the comments bit, theres a box there, tap inside the box and comment away

Yes, I have the latest app version, and the firmware update. I can't play youtube videos online either.

What exactly do you mean by that bit?

you mean on a normal computer?

[sparkerzzzz]

Sorry, I wasn't very clear. I meant via the phones browser.

Is this over wifi over mobile internet?

you cleared the cache of youtube?

[sparkerzzzz]

Over wifi, and yes, I've tried clearing the cache.

[SpencerUk]

Specific Error message?

[sparkerzzzz]

It just says "There was a problem while playing. Touch to retry"

[sparkerzzzz]

I'm going to try a factory reset, see if that sorts it. I'll let you know how I get on.

[sparkerzzzz]

Factory reset did nothing, still the same problem

Sorted it out, it was my own stupid fault. It was a problem with my router firewall rules!

Glad you got it sorted. Knew it couldn't be anything with the phone as nobody else reported a problem with it hehe
