Could someone tell me the differences (if any) between rooting your phone with the "Z4root" app versus using other non-app ways.
Thanks.
Does z4root still work to provide temporary root?
I tried running it yesterday and the program ran for about 20 minutes before crashing.
I have 2.2. I had a friend do the root. He tried some unrevoked website but it didn't work so he put the Z4root on there for me and it works so far. I have rebooted the phone and still have the free wifi but a couple of things are off. For one, even though I set the cpu to the minimum when the screen is off, my battery is tanking wayyyy faster than it used to and im not tethering or anything like that on these days.
If I want to do the "full monty" root do I have to first uninstall this app and set my phone back to normal? I didn't see anything about that in the guide.
Not sure if it works on Evo's w/ the GB update. It might be limited to phone's running Froyo.
I thought I read that it will. I have discovered what caused it to crash, apparently z4root doesn't like being landscape and as soon as you tilt your phone it crashes.
I'll try again in airplane mode on the charger and let it run as long as it likes and see what happens.
i installed z4root on my droid 1 and get strarts just fine then it crashs at the end of it and if it does not crash it freezes and i have unistalled and tried over and over again and nothing can anyone help me i dont understand i have tried everything i ould think of Dlin other versions and takein it off but it hasnt worked if anone could help that would be awsome
