Root zapX for X

so to just be clear... this ROM will deodex my phone?

There is no such thing as "deodexing your phone."

The system files that boot your phone (the files that comprise your phone's operating system) are either Odexed (optimized in a particular way) or DeOdexed (not optimized in that way).

The benefit of a deOdexed ROM is that you can install themes on top of them.

This happens to be a rom that allows for themes. Be careful which themes you choose, however, since they often overwrite system files, that you just went through all the trouble to hand pick!

Hope this explanation helps...

So, how do we determine whether the theme we want to use is going to overwrite those system files?

For instance, any idea about NEXtheme?

It depends where you get it. If you look closely at the original post for the particular NexTheme version you wish to install, you will see which rom it was designed for.

Fabolous' most recent release, for example, is NexTheme for Apex. I think in order to ensure the theme will not inadvertently install unwanted system files, you must find a theme specifically released for the ROM you are currently running. Otherwise, it may or may not work properly...

Good luck!

maybe swype, swiped the functionality of swype in rc2???

p.s. swype working good here; upgraded from rc1 without wipe
