Root zapX for X

I wiped data/cache/system mounted system and installed. Then I advanced restored data from rubiX 0.5.

Calendar sync does work, you need reinstall the rom using the original instructions or from rom manager and wipe data and cache. You need to make sure you wipe system, data, and cache. You cannot advance restore data or that will merge files and mess up data. Try it again if it doesn't work RC2 will be out mid to late next week and will run much better.
 
After doing the install of v3 with the instructions from the original post my corporate sync contacts are still not syncing over. Other than that I love this rom.
 
ok so i've backed up "all user apps + system data" with Titanium Backup PRO/Donate. i do have some bloatware removed. the phone has the 2.3.9 original Froyo leak, rooted, deodexed, themed.

before i am ready for the rom, i should reboot into recovery and do a nandroid backup from there, right?

should i restore my removed bloatware? restore the original system.jar and framework-res.apk? is this necessary?

also will me doing "restore all apps with data" from Titanium Backup be ok to do?

i saw you just mentioned in your last post, drew, that a new version is coming out. will that be upgradeable from the current versions? you also mentioned that you may not have to wipe - is this for everyone? or just zapX RC1 users?

thanks in advance. i'm looking forward having zapX as my first ROM.
 
u don't have to restore bloatware before putting this rom and yes u can restore through titanium backup.

haven't tried it but someone from this thread did: advance restore = restore data only. if u want ur stuff

Use ninjamorph or similar...you can also change images within themes - the update.zip provided is generally formatted correctly, so you can replace images within that file

BTW - you know you have to decompile, recompile & sign the file, in order for the phone to read the APK correctly, right?

Ran into a problem today.. Small but big problem.. I went to download angry birds and I get a: unknown -18. Anyone know what that is?

This happened to me yesterday, here is the fix taken from droidforums

This worked for me. If you never used a terminal emulator before, you need to type in: su before you do anything to gain superuser access
 
I was loving this ROM until I started to get tons of FC's and irritating slowdowns...hopefully the RC2 will improve on this - meantime I switched to Fabolous' Apex with NexTheme and OC'd to 1.1ghz...running faster than ever, and with LP I'm not sure I can find a good reason to come back...

I was having all sorts of FCs with this rom and random apps that simply wouldn't load. I applied the carweatherfix... and I haven't had a single FC since.

To anyone having issues, even with non car/weather apps, try the fix. It might help.

For background: Before this I was on the stock leak w/ flyx and build.prop edits w/ Nextheme.

I installed TBH .15 w/ full wipe. Then ZapX LP 3. Then Nextheme. Then Carweather fix.

Now I'm just waiting for RC2. I'm going to SBF 2.2 OTA, root, install RC2, Nextheme. And then see if I can overclock/undervolt!
 
nope, not those either

Edit: running RC2, quadrant scores went up over 120 points for me from RC1 to 1487. running great!
 
yes, otherwise you may have the same blur service running as seperate processes, bogging your system down.
just do a backup then wipe everything and see how you like zapx.
 
fantastic ROM. i didn't think the phone could get much faster, but you've done it. somehow wifi and service signals seem stronger as well. great, great ROM. installed blackmodz returns over it again along with swype. runs great, no issues so far. thanks
