Root zapX for X

If its based on the leak, I'll pass, since the OTA gives us MUCH better reception here. We live in the mountains, and in some places where Iphones are struggling with 1 bar, we have 3 with OTA.
 
Installing right now. Its always a good sign when your phone goes from "M" to boot screen quickly. It's those lingering "m" screens that freak you out!
 
So has anyone installed this over the 2.2 OTA (is it even possible/recommended?) and if so how would one go back to the 2.2 OTA should they want to later on? Would it be as simple as doing a restore through clockworkmod? or using the /system sbf?
 
Anyone know if it is necessary to wipe data? I hate adding all my contacts back everytime i try and be rom out.

im not too worried about having to reroot and deodex my phone lord knows ive done it enough in the past month that i can accomplish it again i just dont want to install it then not like it and brick my phone trying to return im wanting to try this just nervous seeing as how im on the 2.2 ota ya know? not wanting to be holding an expensive paperweight like some unfortunate souls out there :)
 
I'm pretty sure that messing around with ROMs with the 2.2 OTA bootloader is ok, since if all hell breaks loose, the worst you can do is hose your /system partition, which is exactly what the SBF restores.

It'd be very hard to mess up the kernel, radio, or bootloader :)

wow anyone tried opening the camera? it opens pretty quick! I am thoroughly digging this rom! Good job Drew!
 
Quick question. I'm running this anit is workung great. However I installed BlackDroid over it which reinstalled the stock music app. Now my music won't play. It keeps telling me the file type is unsupported. Never had this problem before. Anyone know how to fix this?

I don't think It will change your radio

Don't you sync your contacts with Google? If not you should. Also a good backup app is a must and saves tons of work if you are going to load ROMS.
 
can sum1 explain how to install roms and themes over eachother? im confused. im running the deodexed black glass 1 right now and am loving it but also want to try new stuff as well.

create a backup of what you have now with rom manager
then just find a rom somewhere on the forum and follow in installation instructions, if you dont like it or mess up you have your backup you created
 
Well I guess I have to tend to this forum too even though I am not running it and it's out dated. Thats why I said before use the other one so I'm going through all your questions and am going to answer them all right now!
