Zomb Bees!!!!!! We are next

Quite sickening really. Saw a doc about this & bees are really getting hammered, not just by this parasite but by other kinds of bee (african killer bees?). Horrible thing to see on TV.

If this is not dealt with (along with other things causing colony collapse) then our days are numbered, we are already in financial melt down, weather patterns are all wrong so food is getting more expensive, & if pollenation fails then crops fail & so does cattle... at risk of sounding like a doom & gloom conspiricy theorist this is bad, I always thought natural disaster would be thousands or millions of years outside my life span but this is too close for comfort... quite chilling really :( .
 
Not worried. Now......if one of my co workers trys to eat my brain...then I'll become a little more on edge.

Here is the thing, as they say. Millions of species have passed, are passing as we speak or will pass on down the road and it is not man's fault. You cant change this by driving a (spit) Prius (spit) or using curly light bulbs or not tossing your water bottles in the land fill.

Crap happens is the scientific words for this phenomena.

Perhaps bees are one species doomed to die off, no matter what we do. The Dodo went, so why not the bees?

I never suspected bees would die off, however. I always thought it was the Wild Justinius Bieberibus, quite frankly.

Do we really need bees? We are told we do, but they told us Pluto was not really a planet, so what do they know, anyway.

It probably falls in with the same level of paranoia over Fukushima. Some people claim extreme amounts of radiation escaping from there will kill us all in the near future. Well, the near future has already passed.

Bees pollenate everything. If they all stopped now, then that would be a major F up, crops would fail, livestock would starve & so would we after all that runs out, after a few years. But they won't all die off in one go, & scientists are doing their best to cure this problem. But the problem still exists, for now, so the price of food will keep going up, not good when most countries are severely in debt.

Nature finds a way. Nature always finds a way. After we are dead and gone, nature will find a way. Nature cannot depend on just one species for the survival of millions of other species, can it? I mean, is it logical that one little bee creature is the only creature that can ensure survival and propagation of millions of species? Not logical therefore, it must be wrong. It is just plain wrong, I'll say it again.

Perhaps the flowers will thank us. They have been humiliated for millions of years by bees raping them. Sure, to be PC we call it "pollination" but I see it as rape.

Mother nature is very smart. She did not make our survival or the survival of millions of species dependant upon one little critter we call a bee.

Perhaps if the bees go, nature will find a replacement? Perhaps the bee exerts and nature loving hive hugging morons do not know. Not the first time we were scared to death by idiots. Rachael Carson (Silent Spring) comes to mind. RC can burn in heck, I say.

One clueless fool took away my DDT. RC is why millions of people are dying from problems DDT can safely solve.

It might take eons for something to arrive to replace the bee, however. Thank God I have three cases of canned tomatoes in my bunker, so I'll take smaller bites and I'll bee OK.

Actually, I am planning to eat everything I can using baby seal bone utensils. I am writing this reply with a quill made from the feather of a Bald Eagle. I love two eagle eggs scrambled with toast in the AM.

I do not give a rats red rear about the rest of mankind.

I will likely hop in the Hummer and as I smoke strong cigars while driving past a school filled with kids outside trying to get some fresh air and avoid the school gangs, I'll let the bright lites of my incandescent lighting illuminate the bees in flight as I slaughter them.

I look forward to hearing their final screams.
 
yeah it is not like there are not any other pollinators out there. bees are just one of many that pollinate flowers. plus i have faith in humanity in that we will find a way to pollinate our crops, if it comes down to it.

i'm curious as to the origins though of the zombie flies. where did they come from? and why are we now noticing this problem?
 
Meh, bees are only a part of pollination, birds do it, butterflies do it, just bees are more geared to it and effective.

Heck, I am not sure the original data is correct. Or incorrect for that matter. Sadly, I do not care enough to research it. Today, I am researching NFC and I do not like NFC, go figure, so I have little time. :D

The thing about polls and surveys is this: one must always go to the source data. One must consider the person posting the polls and evaluate his or her conclusions because he or she might have an agenda. If so, toss out the poll, survey, or article and refer to Wikepedia. That guy knows it all.
 
Species will come and go I think we are arrogant to think we can control what nature is doing. If it is determined to be the end then thats what it will be. I can only live for today and only for the moment thats all I have. Tomorrow is not promised to any of us. Enjoy the moment.
 
I don't see the resemblance to zombies. I'd wager someone just wanted a catchy title for their paper.
 
yeah it is more like Aliens then zombies. supposedly the wandering and staggering around and such can be characteristic of zombies. but these bees are still alive until the larvea starts to eat the bee from the inside.
