Hi all,
This my first post so please be kind.
I have about 60 boost warps that I am trying to apply boot animations on.
When I power on the phone it has the default boost animation.
We received a tar file with the system.img.ext4 inside.
When you run the zte software after the program downloads the the stock rom.
We replace the system.img.ext4 file with the file supplied from the vender.
I can do that and the phone reboots and has the stock android animation and a blue desktop background.
I mounted the system.img.ext4 file in linux and looked in the media folder and found the bootanimation.zip inside that zip was the default boost png files.
I also check the framwork folder and the file was corrupt. I replaced the corrupt file. I also replaced all the bootanimation files. I do know that I have to save the bootanimation.zip file as stored.
After replacing the files above I went ahead and ran the zte software again and flashed the phone.
When the phone was booting there was the stock android animation again.
but the default desktop was what I replaced in the framework-res.apk.
I went ahead and rooted a zte phone and reflashed the phone with a rom that I built from the vender system.img.ext4. and the same as above happened.
I also downloaded a stock rom and built the rom in the kitchen and replaced the bootanimation.zip and the framework default_wallpapper.jpg and flashed to the phone and I could see the animation I created and the default_wallpaper.jpg for the desktop was what I replaced.
So I was wondering if someone could help me with this problem?
What I thank is happening and I might be wrong is that the animation is loaded from somewhere else. I looked around on the rom and couldnt find anything that resembles the bootanimation.zip
Thanks
