Well at least there's some Administrative things we can do without root.
To hibernate system apps use package disabler from the play store. Open up adb and type the "dpm set-device-owner <package> "command .reboot..then choose the apps you want to hibernate..
I tried my rooted apps but can't find the right installer file package name.
Set cpu app let's me fool around with a few settings without root privelages.
I see why someone mentioned this phone may have hidden root.
I wonder if any rooting apps can get elevated adminstrative rights. Like superuser..inside the app it tries to install the su binary right? Just speculating...
It can be considered half rooted because of busybox, but busybox its self does not run as root.ok so im not an expert in this area but from what ive read if the zte zmax pro has busybox pre installed and busy box mainly uses root access doesnt that mean that the zte zmax pro is like half rooted itself or something im not sure of the terms im trying hard to cath up/keep up on the information about this phone i love this phone but it seems its one of the most difficult to root and kingroot as of today when i tried it again just for the hell of it now has 14,834 root request for this device i dont understand why they wont work on it and help all these desperate zmax pro users
thanks for the replys in advance and im trying to learn about android so please dont be mean for me not knowing or understanding something

Every busybox command is ran thru the users current privileged permissions aka if your not root then it runs as non root.
This just makes it much easier when we get a working temp root then we will not have to find a way to install busybox into system as it has it already.

As a person who was in the beta program we really didn't get no where lol they released b20 like 2 weeks ago and told them about the bugs and then they say the beta program is coming to an end I was like huh what got fixed then they still release it publicly and I see people having the same issues as I did 2 weeks ago
Didnt the 1st and 2nd Zmax have built in busybox that was broken. Just sayingIt can be considered half rooted because of busybox, but busybox its self does not run as root.

Tge s6 had pingpong root. The Galaxy S6 never got root. What makes anyone would believe this would?
Tge s6 had pingpong root.
Which it attacked the ping socket to elevate permissions to copy su over.
Thanks for the heads up. I have a OP3 as my driver so I'm just sitting here with this phablet wondering if they could ruin it any moreWe have BL access. Just not a way to flash to it, or disable SELinux
Dont get our hopes up for the big let down!dirty c0w modified does in fact exploit the system!
Now just need to find zte's suid configuration as it currently being set to a default uid to test exploit
