Root ZV6 V.5 Stock Mod - Debloated - No Gapps

I assumed it was free. I got it from a link in the tribute forums. Never paid that much attention to it. Consider it axed. Besides it's not really needed as Hash Brown has another method for activating WiFi tether we can use. All links have been taken down earlier today. Rom going full ZV6. As for the sound enhancements,just open Walkman and toggle menu key to go to settings and then set up the Equalizer etc. You can add more alarm sounds by downloading any you want to use and move them to system/media/notifications then reboot. Alarm should show up the new tones then. Or you could use zedge or something to get them. I trimmed them down to bare minimum
 
Ok everyone. Heres the deal. ZV6 KILLS use of the built in fm radio tuner. With that said,do you guys still want it or just stick with zv5 with everything updated with the contents of the zips we had up earlier? ZV6 is running fine outside of the fm tuner being screwed up. I leave it up to you. My own personal preference is to stick with something that has everything working. I will probably go with ZV5 for my own private use. But dont mind uploading the ZV6 for you all. Maybe offer both for those not willing to have their fm tuner screwed up just for a stagefright fix. Some feedback is welcome.
 
Thanks for the info. I found where you got the alarm app from, but couldn't find anything about where to add sounds. Strange it doesn't look in the external locations.

I suspected you didn't know WiFi Tether Router wasn't free... Sorry if I sounded at all accusatory.
 
Having an issue here... I may have uninstalled something, but the Crunchyroll app won't play... It just sits there buffering. Works fine on another phone. YouTube works fine. Also, the forum app will randomly just close when trying to load a post. Any ideas? I can post a list of what I have installed. I removed several system apps that I believed were irrelevant... I guess not, lol

Push it to location, change permissions, then goto settings and delete data from Play Services, reboot to recovery, then wipe dalvik/cache, reboot, and download your apps!!

Also the Nag fix isnt part of the Gapps package, but it is in the build.prop. All extras can be installed separately from each other, in other words individually.

So far the other Gapps package I grabbed from earlier in the thread is just crashing. I will try another and report back.

Edit: Different Gapps package seems to have done the trick. Thanks much. :)

No browser... Apps. I think I've found the problem though... I just installed an mp3 tag editor and it complained about me having an ad blocker, which I don't. Is there an ad blocker in this ROM?

Nvm...dropped in Stock hosts file and everything's fixed. :-)

Well, one more simple qwerk... Certainly not a deal breaker, just odd. Whenever I plug into the PC I get "Unfortunately, Plug & Pop has stopped." I disabled it in settings, but it still jumps up every time I plug in.

Edit: I found a G2 module that said it would fix the problem. Enabled, and restarted. Problem still there.

Did you change from MTP to charge only?

EDIT NVM I reread it was an app, but info below is still very useful.


There is an app called App Detective. With it you can find out what you need to edit out in the host file, by lookin at the app report. Really great tool to have in your arsenal.

Plug n Pop can be uninstalled without issue. It's supposed to bring up a window of audio apps when you plug in headphones. Probably needs the same apps as qremote to work.
 
The plug n pop thing has been happening to me also. Only happens if I plug and unplug rapidly. But it does happen. Nothing Im concerned with. Will revert to stock hosts file to allow users to decide their own ad blocking method. Still debating on the zv5 to zv6 thing. Most likely will just go with zv5. Losing the fm tuner is a bit of a deal breaker for me.

Dunno... It might have other functions. I uninstalled it so I can't check... You can see what it does in Settings>Accessibility I believe...or it has its own place.

I've got the system cut down to 109 system apps (and 25 user apps), including stuff I've added back in. Would anyone like me to post a list of what I have?
Just did a factory reset and with only the system apps installed it's using 450-480MB of RAM. :)
