Root ZV6 V.5 Stock Mod - Debloated - No Gapps

Oh and I am glad you remained persistent about it. I only glanced at it and from the mpt stuff assumed it was only storage related. But after digging in. I am convinced its more than that. It could be harmless but then again it could be a security hole in that it is snooping on all of our activities and oddly enough we give permission just by buying the device. Wont say LG is doing that but I would not be a bit surprised.

To remove just delete the app from system/priv-app,reboot to recovery, wipe dalvik-cache and cache, reboot. I have deleted it and am using storage fine...no issues in recovery or windows with sdcard or anything else I can tell. So deleteing it out right wont cause any issues. It wont be in any further updates.

Okay all forgot to mention. Now that we have the edited g2 mini easy settings you wont be able to use the menu to activate device in settings..gives an error. anyway just open dialer and input ##SCRTN# after you have set up everything the way you want, the device will reboot and go through the activate process..let it do its thing updating prl, profile etc and you are good to go. Will add this to OP in the am.

all i know is it is an app that has something to do with storage support. youll notice when installing drivers for windows that windows recognizes mtp as one of the devices abilities..well i think this is what that is. also in recovery there is an option to disable mtp or enable it. you can mess around with it and see if it hinders use of storage in any way. it may just be something related to storage that really isnt needed. i leave it. but it wont cause you to boot loop or cause rom to not work if you remove it. although you may lose some storage related use. cant hurt to take it out and test things out.
mlt and mtp are two different things... mtp for storage and mlt for data mining. I personally didn't have any issues after deleting it. Thanks for all your hard work

I wonder why it's even there and exactly what LG is looking for in this data they get. It's interesting.

well it would appear they on the innocent side want to know our usage habits...helps them spam to us and or make new features etc...on the devious side....to see if we are rooted so they can see how we did it then post an update to disable it,also to enable a method for backdoor data mining for government agencies..who knows. you gys need to try the services.jar in the tethering thread i created. i have it partially working but cant seem to get my device to access any sites on the tethered side...the connection is there but not doing anything. not sure if its my device or what. im sure i need to do more to it though. but as it stands its not far from working.

MODIFIED STOCK ZV6 Version 4- Debloated

This is a modified version of ZV6 Stock deodexed Rom.

Changes Include :

Native Move Apps To External Storage Plus Native Permissions For Apps To Use External For Downloaded Files,Etc...

Google Apps Downloads can be found here : opengapps.org/

Thank you for taking the time to analyse the MLT.apk. I'm going to try to update from the V2 Xperia rom today before I do I two questions about the latest update.

What makes open gapps any better than the gapps that were included with the stock rom?
With "native move apps to external storage" being set up in the newest rom, do I still need Link2SD? Can I reformat my micro sd card as one partition again and still get the system to install apps to the micro sd card?

Native app move has been in the rom. It just allows the device to move an app to external sd versus internal. You will still need link2sd for moving obb etc. I have xperia updated same as this. If I get time I will upload it later today. Open Gapps were offered due to stock gapps updating with a messed up google services that throws up force close boxes. It may have been resolved by now. Also open gapps were picked over stock as they are updated regularly so you dont have to sit through updates every time we update a rom with the same old gapps package.

@Curtis1973 Way to hustle bro!!!!

Question:
  • how/why did recovery.img change size? It was 9.5 mb (2.8.7.0), now it's 11.7 mb.
  • is INIT.D support baked in the ROM? (now or future) (I know how to get it, just asking)
  • how can I put apps in the */bootup and get them to load correctly after flashing the ROM?? (tried several different ways) Is there a script that needs editing?
  • What exactly is causing the activation in settings to fail? What else is Volt activation dependent on, that changes when using G2 mini settings?

To get /bootup apps working i just added them to the folder in the rom. not much more then that.

the g2 mini build i used was the verizon variant, most likely activation fails because the intent called is for verizon and not the intent used in our rom. very unlikely to fix that as its baked in pretty much throughout the verizon rom versus ours. but can remove the preference and just use dialer code to activate. a side effect is no more virgin mobile carrier label...it reverts to "LG" heh..

no init.d baked in by me bro.

What is this /bootup directory?

just open dialer and input ##SCRTN# after you have set up

I missed this, ##UPDATE# dial code worked here though. On boost mobile.

Why did recovery change size by 1.2 mb? Did you swap a different version in? (I haven't flashed the ROM yet, new Volt getting sent [h/w issue]).

repurposed lg systemui with a bit of a reset on signal icons and a refinement to glass status bar. reboot to recovery, mount system, use twrp file manager to copy the file to system/priv-app then reboot.
Just dropped this in on my v2 ROM. Noticed something with the Wi-Fi indicator... It seems to be highlighting backwards. O.o
