Root ZVB Blitz & Homeless not Hard Rooted?

Fuzzy13

Extreme Android User
Flashing different kernels and after flashing Blitz 2.0 and 2.1 and then Homeless, I opened up Commander and it won't give me ROOT access meaning they are NOT hard rooted.

Is there another way to hard root them other than

Edit your boot image.
  • Pull out your boot.img.
  • Unpack.
  • Edit default.prop file, set value „ro.debuggable” to „1″.
  • Re-Pack.
  • Flash.
As listed on Android Commander's site.

As of now Im using the plague kernels because they are the only ones that are hard rooted.

Can I just take the boot.img file from the plague kernel and 7zip it into blitz or Homeless?

I'm trying to get hard rooted but android won't even open up for me. I tried Homeless as well. In a thread I created it shows what I mean. It says device offline and can't be used. Ld-zvd kernel was supposed to give root permissions

Testing something. Let you know if it works or not.

Great! Have you seen this before?

Okay what I did was I took out the boot.img file using 7zip from the Plague kernel because it's hard rooted. I replaced the boot.img file in Blitz 2.0 with the plague one and now it reads rooted in commander.

I don't know exactly what the boot.img does or if that was a good idea or not but my phone booted up and is working normal. Im about to try it with homeless and see if it works with it.

Edit. I don't think this actually works because my kernel is still listed as being the plague kernel unless the kernel info is in the boot.img which would make sense. Im going to check the lib file which is the other file that gets flashed to see if it's plague or blitz and then I will know for sure.

Before when I had flashed homeless it didn't happen, android commander opened up even though I didn't have root access. After I flashed the ld-zvd kernel that when this showed up. Now that I reflashed the homeless it won't budge. It still displays it. As far as your suggestion up there^^ never experimented with 7zip or how to do that.

The windows version I would assume. I dont think it matters what version. Just click for 32 bit or 64 bit

Alright. I even installed the plague kernel an that same message pops up. So it has to be something with my phone.

Yeah even the plague kernel didn't let me in. I think it might be something with my phone. It still shows the same msg.

Yeah ive never seen that message before. Have you tried uninstalling commander and reinstalling it?

Yeah I uninstalled and reinstalled. I restarted my computer to see if that was the problem. Rebooted my phone as well. Will let you know in a bit if that was the issue

Plague kernel is the one that has root access period. Its blitz and homeless that are having the problems being soft rooted.

Glad you got it working though ;)

Yeah didn't experience with blitz but homeless didnt work out.

At least now I can finally make some changes I've been wanting to do for a while.

One question. Does the plague kernel kill battery? Might go back to homeless and just flash plague when I decide to use android commander. Would that be fine?

Youll just have to check out the battery usage for yourself. what works for one might not work for another. Give it at lest 2-3 days to work itself in before you make an assessment though.

Yeah it was dropping quick and it was a lil bit laggy at opening up apps. Maybe because my phone isn't debloated yet(will get to it soon) so yeah I'll see how it goes.

Appreciate the effort though! Thanks
