Root ZVD Awareness/Progress/Updates

Everyone is saying not to flash zvc/b stuff over zvd. I did and it was no fun recovering my phone. Just wait. I'm having anxiety attacks too waiting :-)

Like racin mentioned, you shouldnt flash anything thats not meant for zvd, although it may work (like some kernels and themes) its not recommended. Your best bet is to stay rooted and stock.

If I can't have another ROM for now, how can I overclock? Is there a Kernel for ZVD that allows this? I see LX has and overclocked esteem, how did you do it? I have what I think is the stock kernel 2.6.35.7-perf lg-electronics@LGEARND3U5 #1

Untill now there is NO kernel made for ZVD, devs/testers/users/friends are working and waiting for it.

Im using plague's 2.0ghz kernel built for zvc. Flashing this over zvd may remove any fix included on the zvd update. Always keep this in mind, bcz it works for me that doesnt mean its going to work for u

all we need is lg to release the stupid source for zvd lol should be soon usually takes em about a week or two after update.. think we waited lil over a week for zvc source release.. then BOOM!!! you have kernels flying from all over haha

In no way do I want to sound pushy or rush the developers, but how long does it normally take for a kernel to be developed? (Not a rherorical question, just a question)

For a kernel they gotta wait until the zvd source is released by LG

Should I update? My phone freezes occasionally in the web browser and market, as well as when games crash. My phone is currently overclocked and rooted, is it worth losing overclock potential?

I know the source codes will be eventually released, but is the update good enough for me to 'downgrade' for the time-being?

The Update is very much Amazing right now ZVD and there also a ZVD Alpha 2 ROM: http://androidforums.com/esteem-all-things-root/481810-rom-ld-lg-zvb-c-d-stock-debloated.html
And an Amazing Theme ZVD Test Theme ick: http://androidforums.com/esteem-all-things-root/493172-final-request-ldk-ick-theme.html
Anyways you should definitely update to ZVD if your having that much trouble with your phone.

What would you guys recomend in my situation I am happy with ZVD however after I updated I never factory reset after the updated never debloated just rooted and took the metro stuff off with root explorer should I go through the debloating process? the reason I ask is because I get about 10 hours light use on stock battery with the extended Verizon battery I get 17 does that make sense?

that is with light use about 11 hours under 4g and 5 hours with WIFI unless it's normal or should I debloat? and see if that gives me 20 hours under light use.

It doesn't make since, cause ZVD is a BIG improvement on battery life and with an Extended Battery with light use you should of got more than 20hrs of battery life. Cause i've tried that with light use and i was able to get 21hrs ZVD and Regular 1500mah Stock Battery.!!!!
Probably you have a couple of things running and the background IDK>??

Or are you using a NONO Rom on ZVD like this Person: http://androidforums.com/esteem-all-things-root/519653-gseii-sucking-battery-dry.html

P.S. You should have done a Factory Reset after you had update since they may have been some things left over, Especially if you were Rooted on ZVB.

But i'll look into to it or someone with more knowledge could jump in this Thread could help you out.
