my computer shut off mid-update and now my phone is stuck in the "downloading is in progress. do not disconnect cable" and i cant get it back. help please ASAP
Same here except for the fact that my phone was disconnected by my girlfriend. Literally only way to recover is to replace the device. Try not to tell them that it was while updating because then u have a chance of them telling u to contact the manufacturer since it was an LG mishap. So if they ask just act clueless. That's what I did and am awaiting my new phone to be shipped. Sorry to have to tell u that but not even the downgrade will work. The phone can not use the recovery tool in the tool OR the Update option in LGNPST due to the fact of the model number not being present
yeah nothing works at all..-What happens when you remove the battery for a few secs?
-Have you tried to do a hard reset? while the phone is off hold down volumen up and down at the same time, then the power button.
ok so what exactly should i do? because i know you have to go to the corporate store to get the phone replaced or something right? i needa know step by step how to go about this..Same here except for the fact that my phone was disconnected by my girlfriend. , and although i know they're lying, i cant really say so)-go to the store, tell them you can't call or text anyone.
-They'll look at your phone, try to do a hard reset.
-Then they'll check for physical and liquid damage.
-They might ask you what were you doing before the phone got to that state, you can tell them you woke up that morning and it was like that, but it was fine when you plugged it to the charger the night before (this is the usual bs i get from my customers when they come into my corp store lol, and although i know they're lying, i cant really say so)
-if they have the phone in stock (not brand new ones), but the replacements that other ppl never picked up, ask them to give you one of those bcz you have no other phone you can use and you need a working phone.
-if they dont have one, they'll order you one and will take up to 3 business days before they receive it. If you get lucky they might no let you walk out w/o a phone and might crack a brand new box for you.
-if they can't order one, worst case scenario, they'll put you on a waiting list
Do all these but be nice about, dont look guilty though lol
well when you try to turn it on though it goes to that same upgrading screen. that kinda gives away the fact that i was updating it lol i really am worried though.
)you're fine. ZVA had that issue, if the battery was removed and reinserted, when the phone was powered on it'd go to that screen. but a couple of reboots later would fix it. thats why ZVB was released and it fixed that issue but caused the powercycling issue. Then ZVC came out and fixed not a damn thing lmao, and now ZVD allegedly fixed the powercycling issues.
yes, it is covered under warranty (at least in the florida market)
ehh just tell em what i told em lolit just says on that screen unless i take the battery out and then put it back in. do you think keeping it on that screen and letting the battery die out would help do anything?

is there a way to alter the lg update tool so it only does its thing for the eseem lol... like force it to only push an lg esteem update so odds are it will force install whats needed to the device...? just curious... i wouldn't be able to do that if its possible lolWell the computer will Aida recognize the device. Like I said, I have the same exact problem. The device is being recognized but once the programs open there is a SW Version that says MS910ZVB but there is NO Model Name shown. Technically since there is no model number there isn't any way of the Tool to now what device this is BUT I do believe that they should rely on the SW Version IF the Model Name is not available. This would help out quire a bit. And also, since there is no Model Name tied to the device then LGNPST also wont allow you to access the Upgrade menu because in fact there is no Model Name tied to the device. I wish there was a way to force a device clone from someones device on here. This would fix our problem LoL but to my knowledge there is nothing to make this happen as far as I know.
What is the point of upgrading to ZVD only to root and flash over a custom ROM of an earlier update cuz I know that's what most peeps are doing? If you update and then flash back down will it still fix the power cycling issue?
I was actually thinking of figuring out if there is anyway to force the tool to automatically think the Esteem is connected at ALL times but I can't do that kind of thing. If anyone has any ideas then please help us both out.

that would work also... it just MUST be the esteem it 'thinks' lolI was actually thinking of figuring out if there is anyway to force the tool to automatically think the Esteem is connected at ALL times but I can't do that kind of thing. If anyone has any ideas then please help us both out.
Not really. As pg stated, flashing any kernels or custom roms not built from ZVD will more likely remove the fix. Some ppl, like me, never had the rebooting issue, and i personally keep my phone stock. I flashed a kernel over ZVD, if it removed the fix or not i wont know bcz my phone never powercycled
try to push them via ADB then rebootI successfully upgraded my phone to ZVD and rooted when I was removing the bloatware by mistake I deleted the Power off apk and the odex, I had the ZVC backup of the poweroff.apk and odex but didn't work, can some one send me one please.
