Cybertruck Launch on November 30th, 2023! [OFFICIAL]

It's officially official: the Tesla Cybertruck is set to launch on November 30th!

Further details released by Tesla to investors:

It's technically a "delivery event" which means orders would need to come prior to November 30th, however, it's likely those deliveries will be limited to insiders and VIPs. I'm thinking that the official Cybertruck specs and pricing will be announced on November 30th to the public while the VIPs pick up their Cybertrucks.

As it turns out, I pre-ordered more than 1 Cybertruck accidentally, so I guess it's time for me to make a decision very, very soon.... hmmmm.

The event will be at Giga Texas at Tesla HQ in Austin, Texas:
1 Tesla Rd, Austin, TX 78725

Based on Tesla's financial reporting the company is set to deliver 125,000+ Cybertrucks in 2024 but the waitlist for pre-orders is rumored to be in the millions. So for those not yet signed up to buy a Cybertruck, you could be waiting years to get a brand new vehicle. However, given many of those signups have occured over several years, it's likely a good number will opt for a refund rather than to fill their pre-order.

Did you pre-order a Cybertruck? Interested in buying one?

Is Fitbit Premium worth it?

The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro came with a few great promos:
  • 6 months of Google One
  • 3 months of YouTube Premium
  • 6 months of Fitbit Premium
I got the Pixel Watch 2 so the Fitbit Premium concept intrigued me.

The subscription model is largely about "offer it free and hope they forget to cancel". If I don't cancel Fitbit Premium, it's about $100/year for something that's actually geared towards my health and wellness. So I'm giving it a shot.

Does anyone have Fitbit Premium that particularly loves it? Hates it? Suggests something else?

Now what I really need to do is sift through any other subscriptions to cancel! Netflix, Disney+, etc... I have too many for sure.

samsung galaxy ace style

help! I downloaded any firmware for Samsung Galaxy Ace Style (the firmware I downloaded is "SM-G310HNXXU0ANI2") with Odin and maybe even in the wrong way and when the operation was finished the phone restarted in bootloop (at this moment the firmware that is on the phone is still the same "SM-G310HNXXU0ANI2") and now I'm trying to download the latest firmware for that device again with odin only that once the operation is over odin says pass (the operation was successful) (the new firmware I downloaded is the most recent "SM-G310HNXXU0APA1") but after that the phone continues to restart in bootloop so I send the device into recovery mode and above it says that the firmware has always remained the same as before (the firmware is the previous one "SM-G310HNXXU0ANI2"). what should I do now? help!

Accessing learned words in Samsung Galaxy keyboard

Hi! I'm currently sharing a phone with someone who's being pretty shifty and I just need some help.
I was typing an email address in the search bar of a browser on the Samsung Galaxy a12 we share when a whole bunch of suggestions popped up. They were all usernames ( @username ) in the suggestion part of the keyboard and when I hit the ... to view more, a whole lot of others showed up as well. I went to write them down but the problem is I only got to click on two of them before they ALL stopped showing as suggestions in the keyboard.
I'm not sure if it was an accidental glitch and I was never supposed to see those suggestions pop up at all, but the fact that they did means they've got to be stored SOMEWHERE in the phone... Right? Is there any way to access that data- anything I can try? Is there a way to hide the "learned words" that I don't know about? Could they have installed and hidden a whole separate keyboard altogether? The keyboard is just the Samsung keyboard, not GBoard and the phone is not rooted. Is there a way to do that myself in order to access that data?Any help would be really appreciated, thank you!I tried looking up the answer for this already but I'm not really getting the answers I need.

How to stop Play Store from updating itself in Android 5.1

Hello, Android forums. I have a very towering question I need to stop the Play Store from updating itself, not its apps. I need to do this because of towering size constraints on my phone. Then your Play Store versions, or way too big, and need a way to stop them from updating themselves. The old versions work fine and I. And I don't know why it updates itself. I do not. I do not need a solution on how to stop updating the apps. I need a solution. I have to stop the Play Store from actually updating itself. Because the new Play Store versions are way too big. I am also using a ZTE blade A452 (And no, I cannot root my phone I have tried and I cannot There are too many risks)

Bluetooth Range (Galaxy Buds & iPod Touch)

Hi,
As above, I use my galaxy Buds with my Galaxy S10 phone and mostly with my iPod touch.

I tend to keep the iPod in a chest pocket in my jacket when travelling to and from work.
It is literally 15 inches from where the buds are secured in my ears, how, when bluetooth range is claimed to be anywhere up to a kilometre, do I get a break/ drop out in the connection if I turn my head to either side whilst walking or standing at a bus stop?

I am not aware of any problems that should arise from the devices being cross platform (Android/ iOS) or cross brand (Samsung/ Apple), so does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Moto G7 Power

I discovered yesterday that my phone is not only ancient, it no longer has the caller ID block option. I wanted to make a call and remain anonymous and the option to turn off the ID was gone from the list.

After talking to a salesperson at a Boost store I was informed that my Android 10 OS was 3 systems behind the times as Android 13 was the stuff now.

Motorola does not support this phone anymore and I am concerned with safety, although all I do with it is play games, (I used to get phone calls when I was working now the phone has not rang in over a week), no steaming and no banking or other personal business.

I go in to the Boost store today for some info on a new phone and a "retired person" plan that sounded real good over the phone yesterday.

Will report back on the deal zone !

Help New phone is replacing all SD card contents with "abcd.iso"

I ordered a brand new phone, an UMIDIGI G1 Max, and everything was perfect, until it briefly lost contact with the 64gb SD card I had in it. The card contained about 46 GB of music and cartoons. Once the phone rediscovered the SD card it said it's capacity was only 2 GB and all of its contents had been replaced with a single ISO file titled ABCD.iso. I have tried four different cards from four different brands and I've gotten the same results on all of them. Two of them were new and two of them were cards that I've used reliably for several months without a problem. Each time, after mounting the card, the capacity is listed as only 2 gigabytes and, whether it was empty or not, after formatting, there still exists the single .iso file titled ABCD.iso. I have not tried a factory reset because I only discovered this problem after creating about 150 links contained in folders on my homepage that I use for work, and the thought of having to redo it all again makes me sick! I searched high and low online for information about this particular situation, but all I can find is a ransomware virus by a similar name. I want to stress that my situation is not the ransomware virus titled ABCD! Although this may be related, this is something different than the ABCD ransomware virus. I appreciate any tips or insight you may be able to provide.

Alarming Food Prices

It seems to me that inflation is alive and well in the food industry. I thought it might be interesting to track the increases in foods until we all starve for lack of buying power.

Today I did a bit of shopping at my local market. On my list was ground beef. I was shocked when I saw the 85% lean that I wanted was $7.99 per pound. There was a row of 96% lean that was $9.99 per pound! It seems like it was just last week that the burger I wanted was $6.99 and a couple of months ago $3.99. We are in trouble my friends.

Post your recent jaw dropping shopping experience so we can all cry together.

Factory unlocked Galaxy S22 on VZW won't update

I ordered a new factory unlocked Galaxy S22 for my wife (identical to one I ordered for me a few months earlier) and replaced her phone on VZW with it. My phone updated from Android 12 to 13 and gets the periodic One UI updates like it's supposed to; hers does/will not. I used a utility to change the carrier code in the firmware, but that did not fix the issue. I'm an "older" guy but tech savvy - have built PCs and networks for years and have done some programming, but I'm pretty phone-illiterate. Is there a "foolproof" tutorial somewhere that would step me through downloading and installing Android 13 from a server (after backing up the data on the phone) or is this something I should leave to someone who is more expert with phones and the Android operating system?

Thanks!
Rob

Help How can I reinstall Android on my car's tablet display?

I bought a used Toyota Corolla Hybrid 2020. The previous owner apparently replaced the stock display with a tablet that runs Android. The connections seem fine (power, stereo, BT, Wi-Fi). But the UI is clunky, there's no access to the Play Store, and in general the OS seems unofficial.

How can I wipe the system and replace it with a legit Android OS, preferably Android Auto? Is it possible through a connected phone/computer (via BT, Wi-Fi, maybe USB)?

The current system's info is:
  • Model: V8AUTO-MX6Q
  • Android version 4.4.2
  • Baseband version Unknown
  • Kernel version 3.0.35

Thanks!
