My wife recently had to send her Samsung A41 in for repair (don't ask!!) so she reverted back to her earlier J5. This all worked, no problem, but after putting the SIM back into the repaired A41 she's hit a problem with Whatsapp verification. It keeps reporting that it isn't able to send the SMS verification code, even though it's showing the correct phone number. It says to wait for 59 minutes but this just keeps repeating ad infinitum. This procedure worked when she first went back to the J5 but now doesn't. The SMS is working okay, we've exchanged messages.

In desperation we've tried uninstalling Whatsapp and downloading and installing a new copy from Play Store. This accepted the telephone number but then came up with the same error. To make matters worse there is now no Whatsapp icon on the desktop. It is installed since it appears in the list of Apps in Settings and there's a button to open it from there but when she does this it still comes up with the same error. In the verification box the buttons for resending the code and requesting a phone contact from Whatsapp are greyed out.

From searches she's done online it appears that this is a fairly common problem but so far we've not found any ways to resolve it. If anyone here has experienenced this problem and found a solution we'd be very grateful to know about it.

Currently I just reseted my cell a great old fashion FDR a spell ago, now my bar graph on the non carrier data, has been shot over 100%

meanwhile my data, regular old data - of the wifi and mobile data- the graph drops down to nothing from the highest peak in the start up of May.

I know it is a bit confusing. Here are my screen shots I am talking about, all my mobile data on each app is switched off. How to make this drop down to Zero or at least half?

Last week I drove down to Tennessee. I had to stop driving before Tennessee due to severe weather, and I got a hotel room. I have one credit card that I use for hotel rooms. Today I went to pay that credit card online and I also noted a $3.79 charge from Amazon Prime 888-802-3080. I don't have Amazon Prime. I googled that phone number and got this:

"....Some of them have 888-802-3080 listed in the transaction.. This is a large scale international fraud. When you call that number they pretend its Amazon and even send you a follow up email using Amazon template. According to Amazon Support this is not an Amazon number and they don't have any records of these transactions.May 20, 2023..."

I called the bank and reported the fraud. Since this has been going on for over a year I'm surprised the bank doesn't have a stop in place for the phone number, 888-802-3080 on a transaction.

Today is the day set aside to honor our mother for being that super special person in our life. It should be a daily observance and emphasized on the second Sunday of May. Mothers are precious! I lost my mother when I was in my early twenties and I still suffer the gravity of that loss. I'm sure your mother was or is a very special person in your life as well. I understand that some of the Northern part of Kansas is being treated to a visual exposure to the Northern Lights. Friends in the KC area shared some pictures they captured Friday night. I've always wanted to see the lights and they media spoke like it was possible that the lights would be visible using a long exposure camera capture in the Southern part of the state tonight. I went out and took a few shots of the sky... no luck. Maybe if I was North of Wichita instead of South I would have a darker sky and a better chance of a picture. I did see some very cool pictures posted on another forum and thought we should have a place to share some pics too. If you are lucky enough to get a few shots, pleas post them here. I really would love to see them. The lights fascinate me!

Friday night I'm taking in a local Baseball game. It is the Wichita Wind Surge who are in last place in the Double A Texas League North. With a brand new team and stadium a couple of years back I had aspirations of being a devout fan with season tickets. I realized quickly that it was no longer a poor man's entertainment and have not followed the team at all. I wouldn't be attending a game Friday but my daughter's second graders are being recognized for some sort of reading achievement and she has free tickets. We went last year.. same deal.. and had a good time. The stadium is top notch. It's way over priced but nice. I miss the old stadium and the cheap seats.

I am using Samsung A32 5G I already set settings>sounds and vibration>system vibration, I already set system vibration to the lowest vibration already. Is there other way or app to lower/softer the vibration?

I want to ask if anyone else is seeing an odd behaviour with the standard Google clock app alarm, regarding the Off & Snooze buttons when the alarm is triggered. I'm still running a Galaxy S10+ these days, am satisfied with it until I find an offer I can't refuse to upgrade.

I've noticed the functionality of the buttons keeps switching back and forth every few months from a slider to push buttons. Since two days ago, the alarm shutoff screen is a slider - slide right Off and slide left Snooze. But for the past 3 months it had been two distinct push buttons - Snooze on the left and Off on the right, with the action being a touch of either button.

Have seen it happen over and over several times in the past 3 years, and am curious whether it's tied to periodic updates or some feature that I'm not aware of; there is no setting that manages this behaviour. While the main function of the buttons isn't impaired, it's odd to wake up groggily trying to figure out if I should touch the Off button or slide the center button to turn Off. Only once had it impacted me, when it was in slider mode and I accidentally turned it on Snooze instead of Off, getting surprised a few minutes later while getting dressed and suddenly the alarm rings out again.

The hard drive in my secondary laptop went bad. It was a refurb laptop from NerwEgg. When I got it I upgraded the RAM to 16GB and loaded Linux on it. It's been running fine for the last 3 years. Easy fix. I ordered a new hard drive from Crucial.

I Reset my phone (as advised by OnePlus support). Not only didn't it fix my problem, now I have some two digit number of hours of work re-setting up my phone to do.

I would've preferred not to have Reset my phone and just lived with the significant issue. Is there a way to Restore yesterday's Google backup of the phone to make it exactly like it was yesterday, so I don't have many hours of re-setting up to do?

If not, the phone is already going to take so much work to become usable again, I wonder how much more work going to a full factory reset would be.

Incidentally, the issue the issue is that I don't get Notifications on my Gmail account's messages. I was up until two days ago when I started using a different Gmail account, and set up to get notifications of a 2nd Gmail account. But the result was that I got no notifications of emails to either. The phone reset restored notifications of messages to my old email account, but not to the one I'd now switched to and thus primarily want notifications for.

i am a HUGE Kings fan. been a diehard since Gretzky came to play here in L.A.. i am glad that we came back from losing 7-4 to the Edmonton Oilers in game 1 to win game 2 5-4 in OT. i know my boys can score, but our D and goalie needs to step up better. we have played the Oilers in the 1st round the past 2 years and lost to them each time. i hope 3rd time is the charm as they say. i can't wait for them to play tomorrow, friday. it should be a fun game to watch.
