Help Unroot Galaxy S8

It might be time to just start over from scratch. Backup saved files and data (and confirm the data is safely archived and restorable), re-flash with the appropriate ROM, and do a Factory Reset -- the flashing replaces the operating system, the Reset wipes the user data partition. This returns the phone back to its original, first-time used state. And then it involves the arduous process of restoring your entire user account back to the way it was. But its current state sounds like there's a possible problem of a mismatch of firmware, along with a probable problem with 'root' status config files from miscellaneous apps you were using when the phone was rooted.

Help Root S8+ with And9?

it's not the most root-friendly, but European models are much more amenable than US ones. However if you aren't aware of the distinction you can find all sort of inappropriate answers on the internet. It's also important to know the distinction because root methods typically depend on what phone you have, and while Samsung use the same name the models sold in different regions are very different internally, so software mods for one version are not likely to work for another.

Help!

Hi, MadamCandy The_Chief answered and explained it very nicely. I would just like to add 1 point or rather say elaborate. You cannot chat if you don't have an active internet connection or consumed 100% of your mobile data. But you can send a text SMS from your message app all you need is an active cellular connection. People don't use the basic cell phone that much, nowadays, that had no net connection just a dial pad and a small screen. Like the prepaid phones in the USA. Vice versa you can chat if you have an active Wi-Fi Internet even if your cellular service is not active or there is no signal.

Help Straight Talk sold to Verizon

BTW I was not able nor was ATT store to port our old numbers to the new phones from ATT. ST locked the numbers down and did not let us port them.
Carriers are required to let you port your number to another company, as long as you have the correct account info Straight Talk should let you port to someone else.

Help Google Phone dialer app - backup and restore

I'm not even sure that clearing the app's data would delete the call log: other dialers can access the call log too, which means it isn't internal to the default dialer (like SMS/MMS are owned by a separate system app so that any SMS app can be used rather than the message belonging to one particular app). But to play safe do a backup as described above, then if clearing the dialer's data does delete the call log you can easily restore it (I've used that app to restore such data after changing phones).

Help How do i root it???

Well seemed promising but in need a 16 digt bootloader unlock code and the link they gave does not work anymore ):

I tried it with my Huawei ID, and it didn't work for me. Although my Huawei ID is for China, not international.

I have a Huawei Mate10 on Nihao Mobile. This phone is very similar to the P10, but the firmware on mine was changed to HarmonyOS, rather than Android. And I have no intention of trying to root it.

Help All sounds gone!

any kind of glitch or issue, you should always reboot the phone first. not sure what exactly happened, probably just a glitch as i said.
I should have known better but I panicked. I know, not too bright. Since there are other reports of similar occurrences, it might not be a glitch. It could be an unreported issue with our Pixel 6 phone's. I posted this so if it happens to anyone else, don't do what I did. Reboot your phone first and then, if that doesn't work, go through all your sounds and fix them.

How to use the emulated software image in the avd manager of android studio

Hi guys,

I've been stuck with a problem for a while now and it's about the good Android Virtual Devices (AVD) or the emulator that comes with Android Studio.
For some time it has been possible to specify a front and rear camera for a virtual device under "Advanced Settings" (on the last page when creating an avd or simply when editing a device that has already been created). There are Virtual (a 3D world in which you can walk around with the camera), Webcam0 (which should actually use the host system's local webcam) and Emulated which displays a software-generated image when the camera is opened.

Now to my question: How do I somehow get it to display a self-stored image in the camera and - even more important! - being able to change this image dynamically (i.e. not having to restart the whole emulator every time.
I've already tried it with OBS and the VirtualCam software (which the Android emulator doesn't seem to like at all though). I have also tried in the virtual 3D world to simply always exchange the image locally on my computer (however, the emulator only loads it once into the cache when it starts and then ignores any changes made to the file).

Now I only have 3 options:
1. I somehow manage to do that with a virtual camera software
2. I manage to update the image in the 3D world (which is possible because with the AVDs you always have a settings menu on the side and if you change the path of the image there, it is actually updated or
3. I'm learning how to write my own Android software image just to change this stupid software generated video (actually I wouldn't want to)

I really hope I can find help here because I've really been stuck on it for ages and have no idea how to solve it now

Kind regards

App icon or contact icon? And what does it mean?

Well i found this on the internet today. Its exactly what i am seeing but no one ever answered this really either... couple guesses. I think it may have something to do with the use of caller id and *67 and *69. I set his phone up so most people cannot see the number that comes through to limit how many calls he gets etc etc... but i still really want to know
... samsung says they have no clue but both phones withvthis issue are samsung s10s

Above the icon does it say "PoweredBy"? The image is too fuzzy, but my brain is saying it might. The outline of a phone with the "ID" word bubble says to me it's some sort of profile sync like "gravatar". I've never seen it before but if they are in your contacts list, I'd check what their profile picture is set to, otherwise look for an app on your phone that might be some sort of profile or avatar manager.
