Ringtone

An excellent browser, such as IDM+, can let you download the media.

Afterwards, you can extract the audio file with an app...

https://f-droid.org/en/packages/protect.videoeditor/

Once that is done, find the file and play it.

Once it is playing, go into the menu of your music player app and select 'set as' to maake it your ringtone.

You can also find it in your file manager and then long press it.
A menu with the same 'set as' option should appear.

Otherwise, go to where you set your ringtones, and select 'music' and then locate the file and select it.

Keep in mind that when set as a ringtone, quite often the entire song will not be played.

If a certain part of the song is what you desire as a ringtone, keep this in mind when you are using the Video Transcoder app.

Display over other apps is not available

Your device probably is a low memory device.
No judgement there, low memory devices are all that I have, lol.

But yes, this can cause some compatibility issues with certain apps.

On this device that I am using, I cannot allow other apps to have notification access.
This makes it impossible for me to fully integrate Greenify, which I have done on all of my other devices.

Such is life.

It sucks sometimes, but you either get used to it or else buy devices that are compatible with the apps you desire to use.

Restricted Wi-Fi

Just for the sake of info and/or arguement...

Without testing my theory on this...

Use two devices.
One device is connected to the Wi-Fi, and using a VPN to do so.

The other device is connected to this device via Wi-Fi hotspot, and using a firewall- such as NoRoot firewall.
Also the mobile data is on.

This solves both issues, as the VPN is needed in order to get access for certain apps, apps can also use the mobile data connection, and the firewall can direct which apps use Wi-Fi and which use mobile data.

Two devices are needed because Android only allows one VPN app to run at a time, and firewalls generally use the VPN api.

Help Detoxing Off iPhone - Music

YouTube Music has both free and paid tiers. But note that, as far as I am aware, uploading your own library of music is free, and you can upload up to 100,000 songs. See also this guide: https://www.howtogeek.com/685122/how-to-upload-music-to-youtube-music/ and the aforementioned support article: https://support.google.com/youtubemusic/answer/9716522?hl=en

For local files, I personally like VLC the most. It can play almost any music or video files you throw at it. If you choose to try it out, make sure to let it index all your media on your phone when you first install it. You can also manually trigger indexing in VLC -> Audio -> the three dots in the upper right corner -> Refresh.
Only for about a week then you have to be a pay member anyway.

HELP - this device is managed by your organisation

I wonder if the device has more than one profile?

Like if a work profile has been activated?

A work profile can be used (among other things) for a company to issue devices to employees, yet restrict them in ways to ensure that it remains a 'company phone', used only for company use.

Pull down your quick settings menu, and choose the edit function.

Scroll through all of the active and then the inactive icons and look for a little tool box (it looked like a lunch box to me).

If this icon is available, then a work profile has been setup on the device, and most likely will need to be disabled for things to be normal.

Any apps used on the work profile will lose all data when the work profile is deleted.

Apps not used on the work profile will remain untouched.

Help Some of my Telegram videos are showing no picture

I have not had this issue.

I have, on occasion, tried to upload a video that was too large.

It seems that somewhere around 2GB per file is the limit, at least on my end.

Perhaps after you uploaded it, you deleted it from the device?
This would mean that it must be downloaded again in order for you to view it.

There is a setting in Telegram to allow you to stream such things, but if this works is dependent on the video and the quality of your signal.

Is your channel open to the public?
If so, (or even if not) then you can send me a private message with your Telegram contact and I will send you mine.

This way, you can forward thhe video to me via Telegram, and I can see if it works on my end.

Whether or not Telegram can/will help you depends upon their time frame, what version of Telegram you use, and other things as well.

I am a big advocate of Telegram, so if I can help you out I will.

I am on Telegram with people around rhe world, that have helped me troubleshoot such issues in the past.

Help Frustrating internal storage issue

How much memory on the device itself?

32GB, right?

How much memory on the SD card?

64GB, right?

It appears that either the card is bunk, or not being read by the device as internal.

If it was being read as internal, at least on my device, the internal memory would show the 32GB and the 64MB added together.

I can't remember how the SD card memory was shown when I did it that way.

If I remember correctly, it showed that it was internal memory, and gave its total memory as taken.
It was not full, but it was shown as such.
Its level of use was properly represented as a total of the internal memory.

Because the memories were combined, there was no distinction between the two.

Only when saving media was there the option to save to the card or to the real internal memory.

From what I see in your pics, your car is about half full, and your phone is basically full.

Try this app to see if it helps you better see what is going on.

Looking to replace Maildroid Pro

Hmmm... I'm currently on Android 9 and I use 5 different Gmail IMAP accounts without any problems. I'm leery of upgrading and THEN needing to go on the hunt desperately rather than planning for the future.

I really appreciate the information! It does give me more confidence that it will work fine for me, but I'm not going to pull the proverbial trigger just yet.

JWPlayer SDK crash

I'm trying to create a Cordova plugin which leverages the Android SDK of JWPlayer. Yes, I know there's a web player which can be used in Cordova, but it lacks a few features, most importantly Chromecast.

I'm struggling quite a bit because I don't have much experience with native development. In turn all the native developers I know aren't very experienced with Cordova and particularly plugin development. It's a different animal from regular applications. Advice like "put this into build.gradle" often don't work.

So far I managed to get the plugin itself to work, import the JWPlayer SDK and open a native activity over the Cordova application. But then it crashes. As logcat explains the reason:

If I'm reading this right, a class can't be inflated because it requires `com.google.android.gms.common.GoogleApiAvailabilityLight`.

What is this library? I checked the documentation and com.google.android.gms.common doesn't have it. It only has GoogleApiAvailability, but not GoogleApiAvailabilityLight.

How can I import this library? What might be missing?

I've been looking at JWPlayer's own demo app, but I can't find what's wrong in my plugin.

Galaxy s20 Ultra Numb stinging in fingers

I Need help? I have been experiencing numb stinging fingers from my 5g phone. 5g is fast for uploads but now my left hand has become ultra sensitive to radio frequency emissions RF. I have a Galaxy s20 ultra.
I found I could switch it to 4g which seems to help some what.
I turn it to airplane mode most of the time to protect myself. I have, silver, copper and even X-Ray gloves. I have a faraday case which is a case that blocks all RF

.
Anyone experiencing this? I know there are class action suits against Apple, Amazon,, and Samsung for RF misrepresented. Any help appreciated?
Yes, it was not immediate but cumulative from what I have experienced and what people on the Samsung bulletin board are saying.
Regarding 5g will eventually be good? There are studies on the people who have super immunity to all Viruses including Corona. There are studies on people who absorb radiation. No doubt humans are adaptive - we can live without food and water by breathing properly according to NASA. In the meantime, I have to live with my phone until I have adapted. I am open to insight into this problem because I am not alone.
A free app called
Free EMF Detector, EMF Meter - ElectroSmart, will tell you what your RF exposure is and what the sources are affecting you.
By the way, Copper fit gloves are what I have found seems to help the most and let my fingers feel better. And yes the less I use my phone the better my fingers feel!
Does anyone have a meter I would like to test if it is a problem with the individual phone? But if you search this issue - iPhone and Samsung phone owners are experiencing this.
Yes RF envelopes totally block all signals. You will not send or receive anything. I tried it with Find my phone and you are off the grid with the RF envelopes when in the bag.

Moto E Photo ?

OK, I'm afraid I can't help with "that old error message" from Windows Photo Viewer as I've never used that app in my life. But this sort of illustrates my point that you need to explain, step-by-step, what you are doing and what doesn't work. Because what you seem to say here suggests that images you downloaded to a PC yesterday can no longer be opened by the PC, and if that is what you mean then that also means that the problem is on the PC rather than the phone. And if that isn't what you mean, then you need to say clearly what is happening.

It's a common problem with these forums: you know what you mean, and you know the context to everything you say, but we only know the words you type. So a lot of stuff that you assume or take for granted we have no way of knowing. Like in your first post you didn't mention Windows at all, so I assumed you were wanting to attach photos to emails on your phone. The first mention of Windows was in the second post, and even there it wasn't obvious that you weren't copying to the computer just as a way of compressing. But after your third post I'm wondering whether you were always wanting to send the emails from a PC and were copying the photos to there in order to attach them (in which case it might be relevant to know which email software or service you might be using). And whichever (if any) of those is correct, unless you say we can't know, and hence may be looking in the wrong place for the answer. And that's just one example, there may be many other things that are relevant but which we don't know.

One question I should have asked at the start: how large are your images? Because I'd expect an image from a 13MP phone camera (Moto E 2020) to be a few MB in size, which should not cause problems for any email service these days (e.g. my Pixel 2, 12MP camera which I keep on its maximum resolution settings, photos are typically 3-4.5 MB, with the largest being about 6.5 MB). So if you add a lot of those to an email I can see some servers rejecting it, but one or two shouldn't be an issue.

OK going to try one more time :( :(

I use a windows 7 Dell Laptop & previously plugged my iphone into it and it would upload all photos to my pictures folder .

I still use a windows 7 Dell Laptop which has plenty of memory left
.
Yesterday I took photos with my MOTO E , plugged the cell into my laptop made sure the file transfer was checked and it uploaded my photos. It says they are 4.46 MB in size when I right click the photo.

However, the photos will not open in my pictures on my laptop. I can see them there but not open the icon because when I click on the icon I get an error message that says: Windows Photo View Can't display this picture because there might not be enough memory available on your computer.

I have 198GB of unused space on my laptop.

Sorry to be confusing. I had uploaded some photos from my MotoE to my Dell laptop pictures library earlier in that day and it all worked fine. This problem happened the 2nd time that I tried to open photos that had uploaded to my laptop.
