Help Snap a photo from lock screen by button press?

Just got a Moto G8 Power (which I believe is the same as Moto G Power, outside the US?).

The device itself seems pretty good considering the price, but the focus on gestures annoys me. Call me old fashioned, but I prefer pressing buttons or a touch screen.

On most other phones I've had, there's been an option to double press the volume/power/whatever button to quickly open the camera and snap a photo when the device is locked. On the Moto G8 Power, it seems the only option is some kind of twisting motion (which obviously won't snap a photo, just open the camera). I know I can open the camera app from the bottom right corner, but it would be nice to be able to quickly snap a photo when wearing gloves for example.

Is there any way to enable double pressing the volume/power button to use the camera from the lock screen? I've looked through the settings but couldn't find anything. Btw, is it just me, or are the settings on this phone more disorganized than usual? Even the search function seems a bit hit-ot-miss when searching for settings?

Troubles with custom recovery on LG Vortex

dude this thing came out in 2010!!!!!

i doubt you will find anything out there. developers usually have the files in file-sharing websites, but you have to maintain them. they usually only support support devices for about 3-5 years. after that you start to see links being dead. i could not find anything on xda.....so unless someone here had your phone and saved their rooting files, i think your sol.

Change the Voice-to-text software used

depending on your phone you can try this:
phone's settings>language and input>text to speech>preferred engine>on my phone (note10+0 i have two options of samsung text-to-speech or google text-to-speech)

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it!
Though, that's the opposite setting. That's the text-to-speech rather than the voice-to-text. I come to believe the only way to change what I'm looking for is to download a different keyboard and select to use that keyboard instead of the default Samsung Keyboard unfortunately.

Need help with Android / Java development

Good afternoon, members of the forum. I have an application, with MainActivity, which starts a service when the application starts. The service sends a POST request to the server every 10 seconds. Everything is fine, requests are received, but only before the phone screen is locked. If the screen is locked, the service seems to stop completely, and when the screen is unlocked, the service resumes and requests start being sent. What could be the problem and how to solve it? Thanks in advance
Android Studio, Java.

Help USB connected SD Cards.

With the Android devices I have, AFAIK it creates Android and LOST.DIR on removable media, and that's it.

I've never seen things like Podcasts. Like podcasts is not even a standard feature of Android is it? Maybe creating these additional folders is some function the manufacturer(Lenovo) added to your tablet?

I new to Android so I don't know what's normal or not. I come from a UNIX and latterly Windows background.
I've done some more testing and tried setting the write protect tab on the SD card. That stops it as you would assume. BUT it somehow still manages to creat the LOST.DIR.

I can live with it if it's an Android thing. The camera that the cards from doesn't seem to care so it doesn't cause issues.

Thanks for all your replies.

Who else wishes 2020 would be over with already?

I was just thinking about you last night, @mikedt. I realized I hadn't noticed you around lately. Glad to see you!

The way you experienced coronavirus over there in China is, indeed, very different from other parts of the world. Like the US. Masks--of all things!--became a political issue. An imbecile, who shall remain unnamed, hid information that could've been used proactively to better control this virus. So here we sit, California basically locked down again, ICUs across the country filled to overflowing, refrigerated semi-trucks once again being used as morgues, the economy in shambles. *SMH*

ARCORE send realtime data (socket)

Hi guys, I'm trying to send in realtime "camera.getPose()" data from arcore by a socket to a server, I'm trying to do it on onDrawFrame(SampleRender render) event, I'm working with the HelloAR Java demo from arcore official site, If I send to screen the camera.getPose() it works but if I send them to a socket, the app crashes, maybe to much connections by second on onDrawFrame?, what do I must do? any advise?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Saving Txt Documents

Does anyone know if you can save over top of your original documents using google docs? Like if I'm using Office on pc I can edit a document and click the save icon and it automatically saves the original document or I can click save as and it will save it as another document and I will have two documents...
Can I save over top of the original document using Google docs on android or will it always leave me with 2 of the same documents, one that is an edited version and one that is the original version?
