Verizon Note 9 will not charge via cable

Very late to the party on this thread, I haven't been on the forums in quite a while, other than yesterday to boast about getting on board for the 20 Ultra after skipping the 10.

Anyway, I'm on VZW and have done all the software updates as they've come, and haven't had this issue, but When trying to plug the phone into my bike the other day to try out Android Auto for the first time, I noticed that my port must be fudged somehow because just looking at the cable the wrong way will make it lose it's connection. I haven't used a cable in quite a long time as I just wirelessly charge overnight every night. I tried a few different cables, and no matter what, just the most minor touch or movement of the cables will cause disconnection. I'm not sure how, or why, or even how long this has been an issue, and it's nothing major, but was wondering what your ultimate outcome has been. Was it really firmware, or something physical with your port?

Networking

Hi, sorry this may seem stupid but this dumb blonde female is unsure what to do, after finishing with my boyfriend recently i bought a new phone from the same network as him EE and all my net searches etc are showing up on his phone, how can i stop this please..

Thanks
Julie..Crete

It's not the phone but the accounts. Did you have your accounts linked? Look into your Google account on a pc and turn off all sharing options. And while you're there you should probably change your password too.

App to manage a second google account without mixups

It sounds like you want two phones on one device... without a separate user account.

While that has been done in the past (I used Bootstrap on the Note 4 to select various ROMs installed, each with its own account and home screen), I believe that would be impossible now. Google's account signatures are designed to prevent theft or fraud: only ONE primary account can be on the device. Even user accounts are, as you said, guest accounts. If the device is stolen, not even a factory reset can wipe the primary account credentials, which will be required for any further login.

I know you don't like the answer I have for you, but it's the one I have.

Forgot a game

Hey guys, i've been searching for a game that i played about a year ago but can't seem to find it.
I've looked through my library atleast 5 times, couldn't find it.

It was a minecraft like game, with stages. You start with one hero and as you progress you can upgrade and buy heroes to a maximum of 4 in a group.
At the end of every stage you'd get a chest where the loot is used to upgrade your character.
Has anyone played it or knows which game i mean? It was in early acces too.

Soft-bricked a Quanta Gigaset QV830 Tablet

Thank you. I will see what I can do about that. However, as I have rooted the tablet, I am worried that Quanta will not cover it or provide the help that I need to re-flash the stock firmware.
Did you try pressing the Power button to reboot, then press both the Volume Up and Power buttons continuously for several seconds (ten or more) to see it it will start up in Recovery mode?

That did not work. I tried it, it re-entered the bootloop. Also, POWER + VOLUME DOWN is the correct combination to enter Recovery Mode on the Quanta Gigaset QV830. It seems to be the only one, which is unfortunate.

Boosting Volume

Thank you all for your responses. For now, I decided not to install a volume booster. I was pointed to a number of paid apps. However, I have no intention to pay for an app. There isn't anything wrong with my phone or the volume. It just so happens that my preference was to increase the volume both for Google Assistant and Google Maps. However, it is fine the way it is. Perhaps, a future system update will offer me a bit more volume. Thank you all for your assistance in this matter.

Google Pixel 4a, better than the 4XL?

My take is that they repeated the strategy of last year (Note 10+ and a down-specced Note 10) and cut a couple more corners to increase margins further. And the reason it costs so much is some combination of their being sure enough of their position that they think it will sell, that pricing it lower would cost them more sales of the Ultra, and that $/£/€ 1k devices are well enough established that they can get away with it.

Yes I'm sure they hope for upselling, just as they do with the S range (the S8 was the one time they gave you the same specs in 2 sizes, ever since they've tried to push people to the more expensive models via spec differences). I just don't think it makes sense for a device like this, still full of expensive components, to have that as its primary purpose.

I get what you're saying, but if just seems like a money grab to me. They go from a glass to plastic back, lower storage, and then charge more than the previous device. For people who can't or won't spend the extra for the Ultra, it's not so much stabbing them in the back as poking them repeatedly with the knife.

Considering there is a general feeling that plastic is less premium, many will figure that if I'm paying this much for a device, I should get that much out of it in specs & materials. I personally would rather have plastic or metal as they tend to be less prone to breakage, but I get their point. And I'd imagine that glass costs more to produce, so that's why a device with it should cost more. So for them to charge more using cheaper materials and with some lower specs, that just seems a bit greedy. They may be confident in their position, but you also have to wonder if doing this might change people's perspective towards them. If they're perceived as caring more about money than providing a quality product, it might turn people away from them. This might be the first $1,000 smartphone with a plastic back out there.

Already flash twrp but can't boot into recovery mode

once there make sure you check "usb debugging" as well as "oem unlock enabled"
