What is the recommended DB, platform, and format for developing video sharing app?

I am working on a project that is somewhat similar to the way Netflix works (as a streaming service), and have the following requirements:

  • Database that stores video files
  • Create group that can access the video
  • Ability for Owner to invite/add users to the group(s)
  • Video can be played/paused, and resumed if users close and come back to watch later.
  • Users in the Group can watch the video at the same time
  • Email/push notifications whenever owner of a group uploads a new video ready for watching
Now I have last developed in Android some 4 years ago, but in terms of cross platform compatibility, e.g. iOS and Android, what is the best approach for this project?

Should I use AWS or Azure to host the database? Would SQL database work well with storing videos? Is MP4 the best format considering its wide compatibility? From my android experience, I developed an App in Android studio, but is there a better alternative to develop an app that can work for both iOS and Android at once?

MMS MESSAGING

Try re-locating to somewhere that you get a usable cellular signal. Once you get a solid mobile data connection see if sending/receiving MMS works again.
Which brings up a question, were MMS messages working out previously and now its a problem, or has it been a problem for a long time? If you've always had this problem, you might want to quit trying to diagnose what's going on and just take your phone back to Straight Talk. It's on them if they sold you a product that doesn't work with their service.

Edit -- Crap, I forgot we're all in a lockdown situation. Never mind about taking it back to a service center.

What app uses this

Welcome to Android Forums, Swinfo! :)

Unfortunately, identifying random icons is, as my buddy @ocnbrze says, like looking for a needle in a haystack! There are billions of Android icons...

If you're interested in why I think it's very unlikely your unknown icon will be identified, please read this post and/or this post.

By the way, if it's on your device, what happens when you pull down on it or long-press it?

Call forward when on wifi

Call Forwarding is function that's a part of your cellular service, while WiFi is a network connectivity technology. Typically all your phone services take place using your cellular connectivity. Unless you're instead referring to WiFi Calling, with is itself also a different matter as that involves VoIP technology (Voice over IP).

But if you are asking about Call Forwarding, that's managed through your cellular service. Instead of third-party apps, have you tried using Vodafone's instructions?

Google Play violation of metadata policy store listing?

According to Google Play meta data policy:

I cannot add "Word blocks and vertical/horizontal word lists" in my store listing full description.

I have written instructions for my app in this manner. Am i violating their policy? I think I'm not because these are sentences not word lists. What do you think?

Here’s how it works:
Download the Example on-demand delivery app on your preferred device
Sign-up by providing your necessary details (name, phone, and e-mail address)
Set your pick-up and drop off locations
Choose a payment method (card or cash)
Enter your shipping details, the receiver’s name, and phone (if it’s not you)
Confirm the booking

Thanks in advance for the replies.

Speedtest differences W10 v. Moto G7?

I am on Virgin 100, supposedly a 100Mbps service; but with the massive increase in useage during lockdown I only get 100+Mbps at 3am in the UK - much less during the day. The point is that I get wildly different results with the two devices and supposedly same app at the same position (some 5 metres from the router in the same room) and within minutes of each test. Both W10 and G7 are on the same network, same 2.4GHz. Whatever the reading at any time on W10, I get one-third or less Mbps reading from Speedtest on the G7. Not a bandwidth problem, I agree, but does look as though the G7 is unable to process the app at the received speed?
