Personal dictionary?

Hello-- I'm wondering if there is a personal dictionary on the S20. When I voice type my dog's name, Koa, it always changes it to either koala or co-op. Any suggestions on fixing this? And yes, I am speaking clearly!!

Thanks!

So, I'm a HUGE supporter of SwiftKey still, which absolutely supports this. And I think Google keyboard does as well. I literally didn't leave stock keyboard as default for longer than the time it took apps to download. The setting you want would be part fo the keyboard you use though, which are you using?

300+ Android Games for Quarantining with Family

I can personally recommend any and all of the Secret Order games. They have lots of extras added in. My goal is always to find all of the morphing objects that are hidden throughout the game and then hit the extras button for the possibility of even more fun after completing the main and bonus games.

Agent A is also a lot of fun although there is a LOT of backtracking. I got it when it was $.99 and have played it several times so it was a good deal for me.

Also check out Big Fish Games although I don't believe they are participating in the 30 day deal.

The adventure games, particularly by Artifex Mundi are not quick games. You can spend literally the whole day playing one if you keep your finger off the hint button. It is a great way to stay occupied and out of trouble on a rainy day at home.

LPPe

What is it, and why is it doing 36 things, with like 10 ive never even seen before, like a megaphone named 'cell broadcasts'.

Help Text Notification Sound On Call End...

Just recently (within the past few days) my LG V30+ has started playing the text message notification sound every time I hang up a call. Needless to say, this is beyond annoying. If anyone know where I can look to get this turned off, your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Stock LG V30+ on T-Mobile, using a Plantronics Voyager Edge bluetooth headset (I've been using this headset since got the phone - even before with my G4).

Android, lay cell down no notification tone

I've met phones where you can set them to mute by placing them face down, but never one that does it face up. It might be worth checking through your system settings, especially sound-related but also anything related to customisation, notifications, gestures, etc, just to make sure that there isn't an option in there that has been set to a strange default ("default" because a factory reset will set all settings to their defaults). Look for any option that might mute based on orientation: it could be that a problem with the senor has changed how it behaves, so I'd turn off anything that might be orientation-dependent.

And when you say "no new apps installed" do you mean "I didn't restore any apps after the factory reset" or "I've not installed any new apps around the time this started"? If the first then fine. If however you did restore the apps you previously had installed you may have restored the cause of the problem. Not having installed new apps doesn't exclude the possibility that an update to an old one caused this. Maybe try running in "safe mode" for a bit: if the problem is still there then it's part of the system or one of the apps pre-installed by the manufacturer. If the problem goes away in safe mode then it's one of the apps you have installed.

please help Chinese mtk6580

I'm not actually an expert on these devices, but I'm afraid that I'm pretty sure that's a clone. A web search on the baseband version indicates that that baseband corresponds to firmware for a MediaTek MT6589 SoC, not the Kirin 970 that the P20 Pro should have. These clone devices are usually programmed to lie about their identity, android version, etc, but the basband firmware is usually reported correctly which is why that's the first thing I check.

That explains why HiSuite won't work with it, because it isn't a Huawei device. I hope you got it for a good price, because the MT6589 is an older much less powerful SoC than the Kirin 970, and probably other components are similarly cheaper and lower-end than they should be. The whole business model of clone manufacturers is to produce the cheapest possible device they can pass off as something newer: in the best case they sell to someone who wants people to think they have a fancy new phone and know they are buying a fake, worst case they try to con people by selling it as the real thing.

What's worse is that it's probably actually running Android 5. Note that it says "Android 8.1 / Lollipop MR1": Lollipop is Android 5 (many clone manufacturers do a better job of hiding it than this). Also the MT6589 is a 2013 processor, and I doubt that MediaTek ever produced drivers for it for anything later than Android 5 (most 6589 devices run 4.4, and at that time MTK-based devices were infamous for never getting software updates). As I say I'm not an expert on these devices, so you might get lucky, but I really don't think you've any chance of actually running Android 8 on this phone.

Unfortunately I have no good news on firmware. It won't be easy to identify what device it really is, and if you don't know that you've no chance. Even if you can identify it it's likely that there is no newer firmware. Sometimes these clones are based on the same platform, and sometimes you can find firmware for that platform, but I'd want to be very, very sure that it's exactly right, because for example if you flashed firmware for a similar device with different video hardware your display would stop working.

Sorry to be bearer of bad news, but everything you've shown points to that being what you've got.

*rotated & moving pipes*Flipper bird [flappy bird like game with rotated and moving pipes.]

Hi guys, I hope you are all fine and healthy.
After watching a YouTuber video of flappy bird animation, I got an inspiration to create a flappy bird clone with rotated and moving pipes. See the screenshots below.

Features :-
* 3 difficulty levels.
• Easy :- pipes will come straight.
• Medium :- pipes will be rotated.
• Hard :- some pipes will be rotated and some will be straight and move up and down constantly.
* 2 control modes :- 1 like actual flappy bird(I hope so) and second one like idk, something different.
* 2 backgrounds.
* 3 birds.

Help Recovering data from locked android phone?

What sort of "locked" do you mean? There are 4 meanings of that word for Android phones:

* SIM-locked, i.e. locked to a service provider. That's irrelevant to this question.
* Bootloader-locked, which you've already told us it is (this is what OEM locking means). Whether that's an obstacle depends on the phone.
* Screen-locked, i.e. a lockscreen password or PIN has been set. That will prevent you enabling ADB, but anyone with legitimate access to the phone should just be able to unlock it.
* FRP-locked, i.e. the factory reset protection system is active following a reset and you need to enter the previous Google login credentials to access the device. Again, anyone with legitimate access to the phone should be able to unlock it.

Frankly it probably doesn't matter which you mean, since the answer to "is it possible to recover data" is usually "no" anyway. But knowing what data you mean, how they were lost, and what sort of "locked" you are dealing with, will allow a more definite answer to be given.

Help Removing Phone permissions prevents phone calls!

I don't even have Google Pay installed, so can't test anything related to that.

Though it's curious that the "tap and pay" settings have Google Pay listed as the default even so, as opposed to showing no options at all. Maybe this is Google trying to steer people towards their service: you look at the settings, see their name, assume that's what you need to do? There's a lot of money in these mobile payment systems, plus the data that Google, the world's biggest advertising company, would get on your purchasing, so they certainly have the incentive to push people towards it (I'd also be utterly unsurprised to find that manufacturers with their own payment systems try to steer users towards using those rather than Google Pay, for exactly the same reasons).

Selfie video question

Hi mikedt, I very much appreciate your help!
I am now recalling that the interrupted video I made was done before installing the micro-SD.. This means that there was a problem with the phone storage causing the video to stop recording at 52:42. Perhaps it was just a coincidence that the file was at 4.1GB. It would be helpful to know what went wrong.
I'm going to remove the micro-SD, free up as much space as I can, and try recording another video.
I'm not quite ready to get a 512GB micro-SD, but if you have any suggestions how to reduce the file size so that I can record for a full hour I'd love to hear it.
I should check into EXFAT for my Moto G5Plus. A 512GB micro-SD card would be awesome, and then I wouldn't have to worry about file sizes.
Thank you.
