Galaxy Tab A 7 - no root

It's t280
the link that i provided earlier should work then. if you have the time read the guide forwards and backwards. i would also read all the posts in the thread. it usually contains the answers to anything you might run into while attempting to root. the main thing is to be prepared before attempting anything root related. if you have any questions please feel free to ask it here. i do not suggest that you reply over at xda. there is a lot of drama queens over there and sometimes it is hard to get answers posting on the xda forums. we are more friendlier here;)

just remember to read, read, then read so more before attempting root.

Help How do I stop VIDEO from flipping?

Turn off screen rotation is my first thought...

(Actually I've not turned it on for the last few years. The little pop-up button to manually rotate the screen that the last couple of Android versions have had is a better solution for me, so I see no need to ever turn auto-rotate on).

Some phones have the charge oort ina position that is not favorable for a phone stand in some positions- and the device setting only allows for two positions.

The app I mentioned not only allows you to lock the screen into any position, it also allows you to reverse that position.

My ol'lady has a 'candy' type game that is best played in the portrait mode.

But our devices have the charging ports in the bottom if the devices, making it impossible for her to play this game while the phone is plugged in and on the phone stand.

So I put that app on the device, and set it for reverse portrait.

This gives her the vertical screen, but upside down- and so the charge port is no on the top.

She just leaves the phone like this all the time.

What's funny is that she forgets all the time and tries to make and answer phone calls with the phone upside down.

What is not funny is the fact that any RF protection built into the device was not designed to be used in this position while the phone is in your hand or against the head.

Help Wi-fi Problem with Android Devices

Well since you don't want to reveal just what router you have, this is just a generic suggestion but disable WiFi in your ISP's modem/router unit and be sure that nothing except your router is plugged into any of the LAN ports of your modem/router unit. All your devices (mobile devices, computer/laptops, printer, etc.) should be connected either by wire (Ethernet cabling) or wireless (WiFi) to your router. Be sure the Ethernet cable between your modem/router unit and your router is connected to the WAN port of your router. Your router is the focal point of your home network, it's acting as the gateway. You do not want to have more than one gateway in your home network.

Another Update Coming

https://m.gsmarena.com/lg_v40_thinq_vowifi_march_patch_update_india-news-42577.php
Above is the link to an article I just read. The title is:
LG V40 ThinQ gets VoWiFi, Digital Wellbeing, and Screen Recorder with new update
It talks about a new update being rolled out that has updates to the OS. I can't swear to the veracity of the article, but it sounded good enough to post. This isn't the update that Verizon just pushed out, but there is one problem with the article. The build number is higher than the current build, that's good. However, the article says it brings the Security update to March 2020 and I already have April 2020. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ So read it if you'd like and let me know what you think.
Thanks

Wallpaper Express out now!

Hi all,

After some months of diving into Kotlin & Android Studio, I just finished my app "Wallpaper Express" which is now available for download on Google Play Store.

I love photography and also love coding, so I tried to put both together and create a wallpaper app featuring my own image portfolio which I built over the last years. While other wallpaper apps just grab and show content from license free image sites, Wallpaper Express has a unique set of images. It took mesome time learn Kotlin/Java/Android Studio, but I finally made it.

Let me know if you like Wallpaper Express and if you see room for improvement:

Bookmarks in Chrome or any other browser

If a browser tried to copy my bookmark bar on a phone I'd have to be able to scroll sidewards to see more than a couple of folders, then open the folder and select the bookmark. Unless you only have a few bookmarks you are going to be using multiple clicks no matter what. If you do only have a few bookmarks many browsers will let you store those on a "start" page (so click button to open a new tab, click bookmark, done). I don't know about Chrome as I don't use that on any device.

I don't use bookmarks to save typing, I use them to save having to remember the full url (text completion doesn't necessarily find the right page in a site, even less propose it as the first result). So I think they have different purposes for you and I.

Anyway you say you want your bookmarks "from Google", so aren't you basically saying you need to use Chrome? Other browsers may sync with their own desktop versions, but they won't sync with Google, so if that is your requirement you are surely stuck with Chrome?
