In the advanced settings of an AVD (Android Virtual Device) configuration there is a checkbox "Enable keyboard input" which - when checked - allows to use your computer's input to input text into the emulated application (instead or additionally to the emulated device's onscreen keyboard).
This setting is very handy when developing and debugging an application, but for some odd reason the Emulator keeps unchecking this checkbox from time to time. Does anyone have an idea why or when this is happening?
I always only notice this when - after firing up the application under test - I again can't enter text using my laptop's keyboard. :-(

I did just try the latest version of your app, but no sooner than I started, it poppod up video ads for 888 Casino and Ladbroke Sports Betting. As I might have minors using your app, ads for gambling are absolutely NOT what I want them to see.

The easiest might be to just log into the web site for your cellular service account, the serial number/IMEI will likely be listed there. That's how your carrier identifies your phone model to use their service.

serial number is actually written on the simcard holder very smal number so you have to use magnification glas or something

I just---finally, after 2 years of wanting one--- installed my new HU this weekend. It has a DVR line in, so while I was wiring everything I put in a camera to that input. The video feed shows up whenever i tap on the "dvr" icon in apps (which does nothing except display that input). Now, I would like to make that camera be my dashcam. I want something that will just start recording when I start up the car, loop over old video, and never need me to do anything (unless, of course should I need the footage for something). I want it to run in the background and never bother me. Recording to an SD card would be a nice feature.

All the apps I see seem like they're made for turning an old phone into a dashcam. Is there something out there which works best on a HU?

Over the last 10 years or so, every cell phone or wireless forum I have been to has somebody posting about a mysterious 1kb file in a text message. I have never seen a consistent answer on what caused it. A few people will say it's this or that. There has never been anyone saying it's known malware or anything bad. To be honest, I wouldn't worry about it. If it was something bad someone would posted about it being bad by now.

can you elaborate more? what exactly is going on? are you getting error? why can't you use the card? what card do you have?

I went out to check for this stuff in real life. A store that sells stuff (relatively) cheaply had a usb hub for about $5 with 4 slots and a separate shutoff for each, but it was 2.0, not 3. Best Buy had a bunch of hubs, even under $10, but they went way up from there. What's the good of having a hub that mentions only computer stuff, not Android? I guess there are some that can handle it all, but it's a mine field. Why doesn't somebody sell a 3.0 with the otg cables included? That would have to be a lot easier than trying to assemble it piecemeal. What's that great about otg cables anyway, and why can't I find any? There are plenty of charging cables, Lightning, braided, etc., but not otg. Meanwhile, are photos exempt from all this? If PDFs, epubs, and all that are separate from FAT v. ntsf, are they separate too? Maybe jpeg for instance could fit on a hard drive with ntsf and no conversion needed. What does ntsf really mean?

Even when set as default it doesn't work. It can read incoming fine, but sending doesn't even produce an error, the message just vanishes once the keyboard dismisses itself.

Same thing happens to a lot of my favorite Android 2.3 apps where I had to suck it up buttercup and use the Samsung Messages app which at least has some theme capability (but not a way to make the glossier bubbles show anymore)

The only one immune to it was Go SMS Pro, but I ain't paying a monthly subscription just to have a skeuomorphic interface. Plus aren't the devs behind Go apps such as Go Launcher among others behind similar scams as Cheetah Mobile were?

Hi !!! I got a problem a problem with my code . The login page works on my emulator but it doesn't work on my phone when I'm trying to test it. I'm wondering if someone can help me with that please.

I had similar issues. I got spoiled by Samsung and all I try with more stock Android is trying to either TouchWiz or OneUI them, and the results are always lacking enough to bother me. There's no theme store that can extend to the entire system UI (like a Custom ROM), there's no way to add in third-party fonts (like my beloved Rosemary), and no way to theme the SMS app, with background/bubble styles, and no third party app that can achieve what the Samsung Messages app can do.

Maybe I'm just not the target market for Vanilla? Although I was able to change the touch sound of my Nexus 6 to the Samsung nature-bwop noise, so we had that at least. I think my root fu with the Nexus 6 was the closest I got to recreating the TouchWiz UX on a Motorola. Still couldn't get S-Voice to work properly (it worked, but couldn't set alarms or send messages, but you could get jokes and wolfram alpha stuff out of it) and S-Memo wouldn't sync, and the rest wouldn't even sideload with root.

When you make calls, does it use the Google voice number or your phone's number?

for me that is not my concern. this is an english only site.....including "text talking". when i post something, its not out of concern on how other people who are ESL(englisg as a second language) can read it......that is on them to understand. its not like iwant to exclude them from the conversation.

Since there is no sub-forum for the carrier, Visible, I'm posting here. My wife recently converted to Android as a long-time IOS user. It almost didn't happen though, based on her experience making the transition. This is not intended as a slam against Visible (a Verizon MVNO), it's just one of those things that would have been nice to know.

Visible supports both SIM and eSIM. But... what they don't mention is that eSIM support is dependent on the IMEI indicating that the device is both unlocked and in their eSIM database. Several years ago I transitioned from a Nexus 5x to a Pixel 5 with them. The 5x had a physical SIM card and I was able to seamlessly switch to the Pixel using eSIM. The difference was that both devices were "mature" in the market when this happened. In my wife's case, her new phone (RAZR+) had only been released a few days earlier. It was purchased directly from Motorola, so there was no question that it was unlocked. But when the directions for moving from one device to another did not work, we soon learned that Visible does not update their database in a timely manner. After several lengthy chats with support, we realized that our best option was to get a SIM card for the RAZR. Despite the aggravating experience of not being able to activate a new phone, to their credit, Visible overnighted the card and she was in business the next day.

Lesson learned: Don't try to use eSIM with Visible unless it is either a device that has been around awhile or is a phone that they sell.

Sometimes you need to add .\ to the adb or fastboot command in Windows if you didn't add the commands to your PATH. Like so: .\fastboot oem suck my c@ck and .\adb devices where are yoooouuu?

I experienced a soft brick on my Xiaomi Redmi Note 5. It won't turn on, just showing the Mi.com logo. I want to recover my data, but it seems complicated due to my locked bootloader. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Yeah always have the password wrote down, if it's linked up via fb, use the QR scanner code to get in, that way your account will not thrown away, like mine did. Even my way back one, automatically forgot the password for it..

My next set of tests will be performed on Android compass apps; and, based on existing published user questions and comments, I expect to find results similar to those already posted.

The phone is locked on the google account, but i achived to the samsung internet browser via the Talkback turorial, on text editing option, i wrote some letters and sellect them, after that i select the three buttons options and clicked on tranlation, i select some option who left me in galaxy store wheres i openned the browser, after that i entered in some sites download soe apks and started a ios launcher, but now im stucked in there.
