Disabling Time Adjustments

Folks

Not sure if anyone can help of if indeed there is even any way to do this, but here goes. We use around 50 Android Phones, mainly Samsungs in my work. These are used in particular to allow staff to book on and off jobs via a bespoke (to our industry) app that we use. Unfortunately the app does not prevent people altering times by manually changing time on the phone. Is there anyway or any app that we could use to disable the ability to change the time on the phone to prevent people changing it.

Thanks in advance.

New Forum: Mega Threads

You'll probably notice we moved the "AF Community" section to the top of the site after it was recommended by @AugieTN

In that same spirit, I've just created a new "Search Forum" at the top called "Mega Threads":
You can find it in the AF Community section. This forum dynamically lists ALL threads on the site with 1,000+ replies. I thought this was would be a great way to showcase a "Hall of Fame" of sorts. The big, fun topics that seem to continue for infinity.

Let's keep it going!

Rooting my OnePlus

I have had my oneplus rooted previously by someone else. I accidentally updated my OnePlus Nord ce 2 lite 5g to android 13 without installing magisk to the inactive slot first so when my phone rebooted I had lost root although my bootloader was still unlocked. I've done some research on how to reroot it on my own but for the life of me can't figure out how to get the boot img file for my phone.
Could someone please help me out if they know something about this?

Move AF Community To The Top Of The Forum

Just a thought. A lot of forums have something similar to AF Community at the top of the forum. People will first see announcements, Introductions and Suggestions & Feedback. Which I think is a good thing.

I'm the last person to write in Introductions in December, If you take a look, there are large time gaps between introductions.

Help How do I stop this Home button popup?

Android 11 phone. Recently, when I press the Home button (square in circle), a popup has begun appearing, asking if I want to use BvLauncher as Home, with the alternative of Game mode. I didn't know the phone had either of these apps which cannot be uninstalled (I tried). I choose the 'Always' response but the popup keeps reappearing. I've looked into Settings>App Info which lists all installed apps where I found BvLauncher, turned all its permissions on and made it the default Home app. I still get the popup. How do I stop it?

I can't get in!!

Hey everybody, it's @MoodyBlues but I can't get logged in. I've tried different browsers, but I just get stuck. I can use the "Log in" button at the top, but as soon as I log in, it takes me to a 'register' page. At other times (sorry, I've been experimenting and don't recall exactly), I was told usernames must be unique, and MoodyBlues is already in use. Um...yeah, by me! What's the secret?

Rename AndroidForums.com to Daily.Net

Let's face it: the height of Android excitement is behind us. The smartphone market has matured. New Android announcements just don't hit like they used to... and that's okay. Android will always have a special place in our heart, but as technology enthusiasts, we want and need more.

I'm proposing that we rename Android Forums to The Daily Net, reincarnating our beloved site into a broader community for Tech Enthusiasts. The Daily Net sounds somewhat like an official news source, and that's great- "citizen journalism" on social media platforms like Twitter and Reddit have become the world's most valuable and popular source of content.

"The" is us, as a community, driving the conversation conversation.
"Daily" suggests there's always a reason to come back and see What's New.
"Net" gives a tech-centric community network vibe.

We'll still need to figure out how to organize the site and prioritize tech help and support, something on which we've historically thrived.

Desperately want to keep Android Forums? Let me know!
Have your own idea for a new name? Submit it as a suggestion!

AF: New Forum Organization (FEEDBACK)

We're making big changes, rethinking and reorganizing everything.

As such, you'll see the structure of categories and forums changing as we test things, most notably to include a wider spectrum of tech beyond Android. We're exploring ways to bring our "Channels" system of 1 forum for each "device" to this new site, but it's not something we want to rush- more forums also means more segmentation. As you see changes happening, please keep in mind that we're experimenting and trying our best to do what's right for the community going forward!

How would YOU like to see our content re-organized? What are some sites/forums/brands you LOVE that you'd like to see us emulate in terms of features or design? What are things you DISLIKE that you hope won't come back?

Phone protector

I got the motorola phone case off amazon same as on the website only on amazon it doesnt have the rubber wrap around .2mm i guess for use with a tempered glass screen protector. I had bought two cases one with a plastic screen protector. The flexible rubber backside installed real nice and easily after snapping the front on with screen protector. It fits good feels sturdy the camaro side could have a littlemore screen protector if you ask me. I havent dropped it yet but does anyone know of a good enclosed case like this with a larger rear camara raised edges for camera protection.

I seen the ip68 or 67 waterproof clear cases. Anyone have pictures to compare the two?

Big Changes at Android Forums

You've probably noticed that things look a lot different here. Some features are missing. The Blue/Green AF robot theme is gone. What's happening? This is all intentional and a sign of big changes to come.

Android Forums started the day that Google announced Android. We built a community when most people doubted Android would succeed. We partied when HTC/T-Mobile launched the Dream/G1. We were the first to get our hands on Verizon's Droid brand and birthed some of Android's most legendary leaks (like the HTC Incredible). We became the go to source for help with Samsung's Galaxy phones and over the course of a decade built one of the most helpful, informative, fun, and friendly online communities in the history of tech.

And we did it together.

But let's face it: the height of Android excitement is behind us. The smartphone market has matured. New Android announcements just don't hit like they used to... and that's okay. Android will always have a special place in our heart, but as technology enthusiasts, we want and need more.

Today marks the beginning of a major shift, from a community of Android lovers to a destination for all tech enthusiasts. To start that journey, we've decided to strip the site down to its basic building blocks and update our software to the latest and greatest version. The two most important parts of the site remain unchanged: the content and the community.

Stay tuned, feel free to ask questions, and check back daily for updates... you may even find we have a new name soon!

The next big thing is coming...
