no hold option

Well, I have always had android...I got an iPhone.I had it 6 months and hated it. So, I did an early upgrade and got S22 ultra...loved it, but could not put a call on hold. There was no option.I called spectrum twice... called Samsung he remoted in... worked 1.5 hours. Then finally did factory reset. no good. Still no option for it. He told me to call spectrum, so I did and the guy told me they did away with the hold option. I said I need the hold option for when I am at work. He told me to go back to iPhone or turn sound down and put on mute.ughhh... so, i downloaded phone by google app and guess what, it has a hold button that works!

Pocket sized Android phone suggestions

I am in the market for a new phone. At the moment I have a Galaxy J2 pro. Sure it's old and it's cheap but it's been a very reliable and perfectly adequate phone (this is my second one) - and I'm a cheapskate. Sadly it's getting behind on the software front now and some apps (banking etc) will no longer work on it.

One of it's great features? It's a good size AND it fits easily in a shirt or pants pocket (142 x 71mm). I'm looking at budget phones to replace it with like the Galaxy A12 or A13. I'd prefer to stick with Samsung. The problem is why are they so big? They won't fit comfortably in pockets, they're too long! For example I wear work shirts and it's nice to be able to button the pocket flap closed over the phone when required.

Can anyone suggest any decent Android phones (budget price) that are still on the mid/small size? I'll give Apple one thing, they don't seem to have gone crazy on the size of their phones.

Cannot text iPhone

I recieve texts from two iPhone numbers, but cannot send to them. However, I can send to both in a group text and can send to other iPhones.

It possibly may have something to do with multimedia vs sms or Rich Text. The chat feature is no longer available in version 12 on this S10.

Any advice?

Photos Cloud toCloud Confusion

Just got myself a Google 7 Pro and of course I want to transfer all my photos and videos to it. My old phone is a Huawei P30Pro and all my photos and videos are on the Huawei cloud. I thought I had successfully transferred them to the Google Cloud but it I can't have as on the Huawei Cloud it says my Gallery storage amounts to 58.8gb and the Google photos storage amounts to 16.61gb. I really don't understand this at all. Is there a simple way I can go back and transfer everything properly.....Please ?!

Disabling Ant+ but retaining Bluetooth Lite

Is there a way to disable Ant+ while retaining the Bluetooth Lite (BLE) radio on Samsung phones? The newest generation of heart-rate monitors send both BLE and Ant+, which results in a mess if the phone picks up both sensor transmissions.

The most recent Samsung phones don't even support Ant+ any more, which kind-of solves the issue. The Samsung generation before the last, however, is problematic.

Sound Meter : Measure decibles

Sound Meter application is also known as a Sound Pressure Level meter (SPL meter), noise level meter, decibel meter(dB meter), sound level meter, or sound meter. It is a very useful app to do a sound test or measure environmental noise(noise test).

The noise level meter or sound pressure level Meter(SPL meter) uses a smartphone or tablet microphone to measure environmental noise in decibels(dB). The decibel(dB) value of this noise level meter or sound meter might vary compare with an actual Sound Meter(dB Meter). You can now easily perform a noise measurement with your smartphone.

Interesting features of this audio meter:

- Automatically measure noise level
- Get a real-time reading on the graph
- For the particular recording sessions, get maximum, minimum, and average reading on the screen
- Digital sound level meter to see the noise level
- Decibel meter with alarm to alert you when the sound level crossed your specified the limit
- Reference level of various sounds to compare
- Night mode for better usability
- Easy UI/UX for a better user experience

Help A01 adaptable storage android update

Hello all,

have a bit of an issue with a Galaxy A01. when it was new and running android 10, formatted an SD as internal memory, moved pics, music and some apps on it.

Yesterday updated to android 11 and the apps on the SD stopped working.

What can I do to run the apps again?
- reinstalled one, it doesn't work. App still not running.

Would reformatting the SD as internal under android 11 work?
Is there another update to download? Or revert back to android 10 (that's cumbersome and requires flashing right?)

Yes I know about the recommendation not to use an SD as internal memory but will still use it as that makes the phone a lot more workable.

Thank you for any answer in advance.

Notification and System Sounds Not Working on Galaxy S21 Plus

I'm thinking this may be more of an Android OS issue than a phone-specific issue so I'm posting here hoping for some help.

I just got my son an S21+ and the notification sounds don't work. Ringtones work fine and when I go to the list of ringtones every one previews when I select them, but when I go to the list of notification sounds, I can choose any one on the list and no sound comes out of the phone. I copied a notification sound file over from my Note 10+ and it plays it in an external app, but not when I choose it in the list of notification sounds.

System sounds don't seem to work either. When I unlock the screen or plug in the charge cord, it doesn't make any sound either. The only system sound that seems to work are ringtones, and the phone actually rings when I call it.

Since nothing happens when choosing ANY sounds in the notification sounds list, it seems like some sort of Android issue. I don't see how the hardware could make this happen as it just does what the software tells it to do. It seems like that part of the system is just broken. The phone did update to 13 as soon as I set it up, so I have no idea if it worked before that. I did a factory reset, cleared cache, and ran the repair apps from recovery, and it still doesn't work.

I searched online and checked everything I found, and any obvious setting I could possibly think of. Do Not Disturb is NOT enabled, and all volumes are maxed out. There are no apps muted.

Just wanted to post on here an see if anyone had this issue and if so what else it could possibly be before I send the phone back and get something else. If it's an android 13 issue and a future update will fix it, I don't want to send the phone back if it may just happen to another one. It is also a refurbished phone which I guess could have something wrong with it, but almost every phone I have ever owned was a preowned phone and this is the first I have had an issue with. Any info is appreciated.

App button changed

Hi all,

I've just noticed today that my normal app menu button in the bottom middle has changed to the last app I used instead of bringing up the menu on my Pixel 6.

Anyone else noticed this or how I can get it back to normal?

Fast battery drain even with new bigger battery

Hello,

I bought new Xperia Z5, but it had bad battery (discharging 10% per hour and the phone shuts off in 22%) , so I sent it to reclamation, but then the battery it was still bad (phone drain 2-3 % battery even if display off and if I watching Youtube, battery draining 5-10% per 10 minutes) .

So, I tried bought bigger battery (3100 mAh) from German company Polar Cell. After battery changed, CPU-Z app still show 2900 mAh and the phone still draining battery (1-2 % per hour) on display off and 4% on watching Youtube per 10 minutes :-/ .

I tried disable battery optimization, but I don't see any change (only the phone charging longer time) . What should I try next? Factory reset or reinstall system via Xperia Companion? Or this issue is in phone itself?

And yes, I have wifi, NFC and GPS off.

I know, that this phone is little bit hot (because Snapdragon 810) , but in idle or browsing the web is OK. But still, the battery draining too fast. I had Xperia Z3 Compact before and I can use this phone almost three days! Z5 barely 8-9 hours.

Thank you in advance.
