Please suggest if you know a real functional third party Lock app that supports locking Apps without 'forgeting' what they had locked after sometimes in Android 11 smartphone. Tried many in playstore and don't work consistently.

Hello, 1 month ago I bought a new Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 pro smartphone from the official european website, and restored the backup from my old Motorola G8 Power smartphone. Not long after that I installed Avast antivirus for Android and it found malware in one of my apps, which I uninstalled. My phone was lagging and some applications were crashing(for example Google Maps, Google Chrome and Oodles books). When I was switching the pages of apps, navigating the menu, it was lagging. So I did a backup without the malicious app and did a factory reset and then restored my backup. Now Telegram is crashing and sometimes, when I switch pages, navigating through apps it's lagging again. What could be the reason for this?

Hi, I'm about to root my OnePlus 8 (hopefully today) but first I need to find out if creating a patched Boot file from the IN2017_11_C.41 update will be ok, I already have the Boot file patched using Magisk so I just need to know if this update will work or if I need to use another one cause I can't figure out if it's stable or incremental and I really don't want to brick my phone, please let me know as soon as possible, thanks!!

if you use less than 15 views, use Linear layout and keep the stack less than 6, I don't really have any problems, use more than 15 views with Constraint Layout and it can become a nightmare, changing id and moving views.
I have been trying to build a grid of buttons (45) (till app)
but i need the user to add them and edit the text, size for each button.
First I looked at grid view, you can change the element size(every tile has to be the same size) that's no good to me. Second I tried Constraint Layout but I need the user to make some tiles(buttons) gone, and the rest auto resize to take up any available space, can't see this working with a grid of views(sure it would great with 10 views with Barrier(as this would add 9 more Barrier.views with more id's to keep track of)
so I can't see this working with 45 buttons.
Linear Layout gives you all the control you would ever need with weights but its heavy on system resources(well that's the warning say)

Is Linear Layout my best option?

I tried playing with some video setting properties. I noticed that my "Video Brightness" setting is kind of greyed out or dulled down and locked at the setting kf "Normal" and can't be changed like what is shown on this page:

I bought an unlocked device. I heard in the past that unlocked phones might have or not have certain featues compared to carrier phones. I don't really know if that is the case and if it is what is going on in my phone.

On my phone, I used to go to
settings>security>encrypted...>trusted network security certificates
Then if i disabled a certain certificate/s, (eg.Google) then all Google sites, apps, etc would instantly stop working & notifications pop up every 2 seconds
Recently i did this, disabled all 4 certificates and when i went to open all Google sites, apps, etc... They all still work for some reason.
To me, this clearly means that some one has installed other certificates to mimic or replace these original google certs and they are hidden somewhere either on my phone or on an external source somewhere.
I have tried removing all installed certificates, it does nothing.

I believe my phone has been compromised and was secretly rooted somehow, because all my settings mysteriously change themselves.
When I select certain settings one day, such as:
dev options>background Process limit>set to none..
then a minute later, ill return and its back to standard. Not just that.
Literally ALL settings change... whatever i change that may f+<k with what they're doing, will be changed back as soon as i fall asleep and wake up.

notification settings.... i try to keep them on, they change to off, so i receive no notifications wen i receive emails, updates, in-app msgs, i receive literally no notifications except calls and texts.
To try and counter this hacker, I installed and paid for a brave VPN, it was instantly disabled & unable to work (error would come up saying "your subscription is expired")
braves browser settings also change constantly,

Eg
'Block trackers & ads' changes from "aggressive" to "standard protection"
Incl many more

All of a sudden, the notifications isn't showing the # of new emails or texts. I checked to make sure they are on. I checked the settings. Notifications is on , allow sound and vibration is on. All I want is to be able to see the number of new emails or texts next to their icon. This just started Friday or yesterday. What I mean, is when I get a new email, it would show a little number 1, or 2, or however many emails I have. Now it's not showing those #'s. Same with texts. Is there any issue that is causing that, and if so, how do I get them back?

I just wanna know downloading Maps and other items like Skins etc increases the size of game's obb or data.

My tablet is Samsung S7 FE. I use ColorNote and TypeApp applications with Gboard.
When I write something, Gboard underlines every word and after pressing space, underlining disappears.

These parameters for the new card (while opening an output stream as an example) MUST be read by Audio Flinger from the Audio HAL!

In this regard, Audio Flinger of Android 7 has the ugly bug, while changing from the one family card to the another, since Google programmers forgot, while opening the output stream to pass the buffer size, assuming that the buffer size is a fixed value through the live of the Audio Stack (which is NOT). Google programmers pass the other two parameters: sampling rate and the latency!

is there a way I can turn Off the message "a usb media drive was detected" ??? everytime I turn on my TV , just because I keep my usb connected - that message is Annoying just like when we buy a new pc - and autodetect is running for usb's or CD discs. in pc's its very easy to turn off that same message.

For a month now my Google pixel 6 cannot receive calls. All calls immediately go to voicemail. I missed lots of important calls. I contact my carrier (Tmobile) and one agent was able to fix it for one call. Next day the issue comes back. The fix is using 'Reset Option' / 'Reset Wifi - mobile - Bluetooth' then immediately shutdown the phone. It's very annoying. When I google about the issue I found that many people experience the same symptom.
I consider Google pixel 6 the worse phone in the world, because it cannot perform the main goal of a phone.

Can you use Linux Ubuntu and cross compile .so, which you place in JNIlibs folder and then use this .so file as libary or do you really need to compile in NDK always.

The problem is, that I want to use another libary. Building this libary is impossible in NDK, thats what the devs say, because it uses other dependencies.
However you can build on Linux and even cross compile it for arm-linux.


But here starts the point, where I get confused. The jnilibs folder need a so file. However you cannot compile a static program with so, because shared objects are dynamically linked. I can create a executable, that will run on adb, but this is not what I want.

Hello. I have a Google Pixel 6 Pro, and when typing a message in either Google Messages (SMS) or Facebook Messenger, The text area for what I am typing is too small. It shows approx 5 lines of text, while the rest of the screen is taken up with the background of the screen behind. When typing large messages, one the 5 line text area is full, the text will scrull up past the text box and become invisible. This makes reviewing what you have written extremely difficult. I would like to make the text box full screen (the available width and height of the xreen that is not taken up by the keyboard itself, which will allow more room for text and an easier review of what has been written.

The example have given occurs with Gboard, as well as alternate keyboards I have tried, so this seems to be a global setting which I can't find an option to change.

Can anyone help fix this issue?

The regular way (volume down + power) was not working this morning until just now. Moto has the 3 finger way. As far as I know this does not. Regular is working right now but I want a backup just in case.

I take a a lot of photos for business and need to tag them to find. Samsung gallery has a great keyword tagging feature. Unfortunate it must store those keywords in a non-standard place because no other Android/windows app can see those tags. I need a way to tag photos that will be searchable on PC and with other apps.
Does anybody know where those tags are stored and if there are other apps that search & tag in the same place?
Or does anyone else have this need and found an app that works for them?

My Galaxy Note 20 Ultra will not make or receive calls when under a metal roof. Neither would my old Note 5.
Verizon for years told me that it was because calls could not go through metal (after selling me a range extender for a couple hundred bucks that did nothing for the problem!) After asking many people I find that other providers and even others in Verizon did not have that problem with metal interfering. Now they tell me it is the phone brand. WTF! A top of the line phone will not work under metal as a phone. But can get and receive texts, data.
