I'm trying to find updates for my head unit, either firmware or Android (currently Android 8)

I also cannot reset to factory settings because it needs a code which I don't have.

Its slow, freezes everytime I use it and I'm ready to smash it up.

I will attach the spec as shown using Aida64 and hopefully someone can identify what I'm looking for and point me in the right direction.

I recently bought a Google Pixel 2 to make it a simple and secured de-googled phone by installing GrapheneOS.

I'm totally new into the custom ROM installation, I just understand the goals and benefits but I never practised that before.
But after struggeling to prepare my phone as my computer for the installation, I tried to get more information and now I have a doubt : is it still possible to get GrapheneOS working properly on a Google Pixel 2 in 2022 ?
If yes, I as hoping for some help.

When I tried, I started to install the CalyxOS because it seemed more simple. Indeed the device-flasher shown me already some errors that I could resolve and start to understand what's wrong. It's like my computer doesn't recognize my phone even if I installed the USB driver.
After some researches I guessed that maybe I'm using a wrong cable (USB C A), not sure about it but it is a hint.

I decided to try installing GrapheneOS anyway with the web installer but yet, same thing. It doesn't see my device connected.

I'm a bit lost and hope that someone could explained me with as much as details as possible from the very start.

I thank you in advance for your attenton and your time, I really wish to get it working and step away from Google system.

I was away and saw a warning on my phone that the hotel's WI-FI "was not secure". The phone turned on a VPN, which seemed to be a nice thing. Until that VPN displayed a screen showing all of the information it would take from my usage and save and keep. It wasn't a google VPN but that was just as bad as what google tries to do all the time. I disabled the WI-FI and made do without it in the hotel.

Is there such a thing as a free VPN that minds its own business? Or is that an oxymoron?

my team is the LA Kings. they just made the playoffs. they clinched a few days ago and will play the Oilers on Monday. it is the 1st time making the playoffs since 2018. i really hope they can beat them, but the Oilers this year are really good. we do have a very young team but with a good mix of experienced guys....so it will be hard to say how far they will go. we have the goaltenders in Quick and Cal Peterson.

Apparently a few feature was foisted onto my messaging app which allows one to create their own emoji's.

And I can't find a means to dismiss it.

the outer part of my S41 lifts up and should be fixed.

Now I wonder if I could fix it myself and if so, which glue to use.

I contacted caterpillar support but instead of advising me how to fix it they sent me a repair quotation of 50€.

There are lots of pages on the web saying how to sort your apps (not the home screen, but where you see all the apps) in alphabetical order, but the first step is always to tap a menu icon in the top right corner of where the apps are listed. I have no such icon. Below is a screenshot of my apps screen - the only thing at the top is a search bar. What can I do to get them to sort? They are currently in the order of: (1) pre-installed apps, (2) apps imported from old phone (which seem random within this category), (3) newly installed apps. That's not very helpful. (Note: My model is an Aquos sense3 basic, but there isn't a forum for that, so I'm posting here.)

Had my new Motorola G100 for a couple of weeks and really pleased with it except!
When unlocking screen with fingerprint it then want's a PIN number as well?
As far as I know it's set for remaining unlocked while home and/or 4 hours, can't seem to set it up so it doesn't request it!
I am in 'developer mode' and in the notification section there is a skip lock screen function which is greyed out ? and I don't seem able to activate it?
Am I looking in the right area?
Looks like I had similar settings on my G7 plus but that would go to an active screen from a fingerprint without PIN request.

Is there a way to monitor audio accesses by looking log? I tried it using logcat and dmsg through adb, but nothing. Any ideas?

I have two almost identical phones:
1. Android 11, build RZBS31.Q2-143-27-7 (does not allow attach pictures, described below)
2. Android 11, build RZBS31.Q2-143-27-4 (does allow attach pictures)
The problem phone also has more recent "Android security update", "Google Play system update" and "Kernel version".

I am trying to use Messages app to send a picture to a contact.
1. Open message app
2. tap on existing conversation with contact
3. tap on paper clip.
4. It shows 'Recent', but with 'no items'. I have to navigate to SD card -> DCM -> camera
(this looks like it does not know that I have an SD card).
5. all of the pictures are grayed out and I cannot select any.

How to fix? It used to work. Though, I did not used to have to navigate to camera: it was the default view. I am not sure what changed. How to get back to that?

Permissions for Messages app:
Camera: Allow only while using the app
Contacts: Allow
Files and Media: Allow access to media only
Microphone: Allow only while using the app
Phone: Allow (but grayed out)
SMS: Allow

The Messages app is the default SMS app.

For the Camera app settings: Save settings is set to Storage - SD card.

The attachment is an example of the grayed out pictures.

Is there a way to disable the media in Android Auto so that I can connect a USB iPod?

I've gone through the AA and BT settings and have everything I can find related to Media turned OFF. But when we plug in the iPod via USB I get a notice that Android Auto Media is connected.

Really would like to separate it so I can use my phone for Maps, Calls, etc., but use the iPod for music.

Hi, as the above suggests, I have a Galaxy Watch Active (1st generation).

Samsung Pay comes as standard on it, but I use (imo) the far superior Google Pay.

Is there any reason Google Pay isn't available on this watch?
