Solid Explorer cannot access local ftp

Hi

I am running "FTP Server - Multiple FTP users" on an Android tv box, on my home network without external access, and it works well, I can access it using two Windows computers and a Linux one, so all is good with that app.
The problem is solid explorer on a Samsung S9, S7 and a S4 mini. In the app I tap new cloud connection > ftp > ip address > port 2121 anonymous user and connect. The ftp server shows a user logged in, but solid explorer is just "connecting" with a continuos spinning circle and never shows the directory contents.
I purchased solid explorer many years ago and am convinced there is a setting I have overlooked when adding the ftp connection.

Need recommendations on Mobile Phone Hardware Development Platform for Android 10/11

Hello,

I am working on a project that requires a Mobile Hardware Development Platform interfacing with a custom SOC over the SPI interface to do some advanced sensor related functionality. For this we need to have/configure access to the GPIO/SPI pins in the Android System/Device Tree and thus need all the sources for the Android System (preferably Android 10 or 11,) along with writing a custom driver later on. Can someone recommend a particular Mobile Hardware Development Platform or a Hacked Phone/Mobile that would work with bringing out SPI access and that has the Android 10/11 OS sources available for the platform/device (e.g. Lineage OS/AOSP, etc...)???

I would appreciate any feedback.
Thanks!

Broken screen

Ok, I have a Galaxy A20. Back in March, my daughter bumped into me and knocked the phone out of my hand. It only fell about a foot but the phone landed flat and the screen started bleeding. Now the whole screen is black, but it’s still responsive. I have a few pictures I need off of that phone, but I’ve tried the power button and volume buttons and it doesn’t work. Is there a way to remotely access the pictures saved on that phone from another phone or tablet? I don’t have a computer to hook them to, and I don’t have the cord to link both phones together. And I am unable to take it anywhere because I’m on bed rest due to Covid shutting down my body. Does anyone know if that’s possible to use another device to extract my photos?

DataBinding with Navigation Drawer

Started using DataBinding in my app. Was moving right along until I tried to update my main app (which is built inside of navigationDrawer. I cut out all of the controls as they are not an issue and binding lets me access them just fine. The problem is that the nav_header_main contains a lot of controls that I need to access as well and I currently use findViewByID to get them. I believe the databinding is binding around the activity but won't let me access anything that's just inside of a layout (like the nav_header_main. Haven't found any good articles on how to do this so far so I thought I'd ask. Was also curious if having all of my views inside the nav_header_main was a bad idea. Don't know how else to get content into the drawer without using a fragment. As you can tell, I'm a java novice. Normally a C# programmer but decided to migrate to android programming.

This is my main app (trimmed to save space)

Java:
<layout>
<androidx.drawerlayout.widget.DrawerLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
    xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
    xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
    android:id="@+id/drawerLayout2"
    android:layout_width="match_parent"
    android:layout_height="match_parent"
    android:background="@color/white"
    android:padding="3dp">

    <androidx.constraintlayout.widget.ConstraintLayout
        android:layout_width="match_parent"
        android:layout_height="wrap_content"
        android:background="#FFFFFF"
        android:padding="2dp">

        Textviews, buttons, etc... removed so this would fit.

    </androidx.constraintlayout.widget.ConstraintLayout>

    <com.google.android.material.navigation.NavigationView
        android:id="@+id/navigationView2"
        android:layout_width="wrap_content"
        android:layout_height="match_parent"
        android:layout_gravity="start"
        android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
        app:headerLayout="@layout/nav_header_main" >

    </com.google.android.material.navigation.NavigationView>

</androidx.drawerlayout.widget.DrawerLayout>
</layout>

ITV Hub Problem

I use ITV Hub via vpn as per BBC Iplayer which works 100%. The ITV Hub will not run on my Android tv box, phone, Lenovo pad and bluestacks. The recorded programmes ads run and then player stops with static screen. If a live channel is selected nothing happens. The App used to work but has started doing this in the last year or so. The strange thing is that both players run on windows 10 using firefox or most other browsers using same vpn. Does anybody know what has changed on ITV Hub to cause this.I have tried location change app but it does not change the problem.

No USB Icon in Notifications

Hello, this is my first post ;)

Recently acquired a Motorola ONE (currently running Android 10). While I was able to connect to my PC via USB, but the files did not display. When I went to Notifications to activate File-Transfer, the Icon was not there. I found the USB Icon in Setting>Connected-Devices.

From what I've read the USB Icon should appear in the Notifications when connected:
- Why don't I see the USB Icon in Notifications?
- Is there a way the have the Icon displayed in notifications when connected?

Thanks, X

Hotspot not working

Hello to all and I apologise in advance if this is not the right place to post this question. I have the highest priced plan with MetroPCS because I use my phone as a mobile router for my other devices. Everything has worked flawlessly for months but after paying my last bill I seem not to be able to access the internet via hotspot on any other devices.

I've tried troubleshooting this with my laptop. I've connected to WiFi hotspot, Bluetooth hotspot, USB hotspot all at both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bandwidths.I deleted and recreated connection information every time. I deleted mobile hotspot data on my Moto E each time and reset it. I've restarted both devices. Nothing has worked yet.

The curious thing is that I can connect to hotspot via wifi, Bluetooth or USB just fine, and when pinging a website from command line it very clearly shows DNS routes are getting resolved. The IP address is displayed for the site I am attempting to ping, but I always get consistent 100% packet loss.

Sorry for the long winded question, but has anyone ever experienced this, and if so what steps did you take to resolve it? Thanks in advance!

Unlocked phone "Not registered on network"

I bought an unlocked phone online from Amazon for my mom. I took the sim card from her old Galaxy S7 and transferred it to the new device. All apps, contacts, texts, call logs, etc were also transferred. I try to make a call, "Not registered on network" is what it says. I think the fact that it's unlocked has a lot to do with the problem. Me & my mom both use Boost Mobile. I swapped my own devices before and it was simple as just transferring data & the SIM card but neither of the two phones were 'unlocked' they were both Boost carriers. What am I doing wrong?

Charge port cover/flap

My Cat S41's USB/Charge port cover/flap broke off. Does anyone know if it is still waterproof ? Cat customer service told me yes and no, First time I asked they said the charge port has an o-ring seal inside against the frame so is still water tight, but second person I spoke to said no it isn't waterproof anymore without it. So has anyone washed or dropped their S41 in water without that cover ? What happened ? Cat won't sell replacement parts for its phones witch is crazy considering all the s41's for sale on Ebay/Amazon etc.. are missing that cover. There are thousands of these phones out there and a new cover can't be found anywhere, even aftermarket. The entire charge port circuit board can be bought on Ebay and dose indeed have an o-ring seal, and the actual charge port is a solid piece of plastic so it looks water tight. Please, if anyone knows if it is still waterproof or how to get another cover, let me know, Thanks

It's 2021 & we still can't get good quality video/images iphone to android

Seriously this is ridiculous. Trying to text someone a video or picture is a joke. Videos especially... iPhone to Android and/or Android to iPhone. The quality is so massively degraded that it's literally unwatchable. Why cant this just work how it should.. its 2021 and still cant get it right?

And no email, google photos, google drive, telegram, whatsapp etc aren't solutions. They are bandaids. I shouldn't have to be like "oh hey what's your email" or "can you sign up for telegram so I can send you this video?!". That's ridiculous. The media file should be sent inline with the text conversation. PERIOD.

All I heard since like 2015 was RCS RCS RCS! The end of media degradation!!! RCS! RCS! RCS! Well hasn't RCS been here for a while now? I literally haven't seen any change in anything other than I can see people type when using Verizon messages as my texting app.
